Block and top level design from Specification to synthesized and STA clean. Design verification and developing improved verification methodologies. The leading authority in Public Health and Health Protection are seeking a Media Production & Glass Preparation Team Manager to manage the staff and facilities in the Media Production and Glass Preparation areas. This will involve providing technical support in the manufacture of microbiological growth media, the safe handling and disposal of microbiological waste and the supply of clean or sterile glassware and equipment within a Regulatory and ISO9001 environment. The postholder is responsible for ensuring the facilities are compliant with all appropriate regulations. In addition, to provide a specialised and general Media and Glass Preparation service, including the management and control of the Makesafe Autoclaving Service. The postholder will also be suitably conversant with all protocols and regulations, to the level of local Subject Matter Expert.
The job role will manage working relationships internally and externally with many contacts including FW&E, RIPL, Research, Development, Quality, Validation, Calibration, Safety, Emcor, Facilities Management, Finance, HR, Contractors, Suppliers, Regulatory bodies, DEFRA, HSE and customers. This is a challenging role which requires planning, managing and scheduling unpredictable and complex work loads. The role undertakes to raise and approve orders for services and consumables, recruit and select new staff, monitor and manage attendance, sickness, performance and disciplinary matters. In addition, to undertake appraisals,to train new staff, to look critically at one's own and others practices and procedures and to ensure the effective use of resources.
There are a wide range of Quality responsibilities including management of the department, management and support of staff, co-ordinating training, follow all procedures, policies and regulations to ensure product standards. Also, to ensure the maintenance of the facility and to make decisions based on trending, assessment and process analysis. Similarly a number of Service responsibilities exist including performing routine and non-routine technical procedures, managing servicing and breakdown of equipment, managing autoclaves, training and developing staff, assemble and check documents and records, manage databases and creating reports. The above is not exhaustive and there are other expectations and duties involved with this role.
Candidates for this role will possess a degree or equivalent and demonstrable post graduate experience.You will have demonstrable experience in a supervisory role and in a relevant technical area, be fully aware of equality and diversity and be knowledgable of Regulatory requirements. Candidates will have clear and accurate record keeping, numeracy and communication skills and naturally work effectively within a team. Candidates will follow written procedures, have excellent organisational skills, work to deadlines and lead by example.

Our client is an independent Water Treatment Company based in Wiltshire offering services that include Control of Legionella (reference ACoP L8), Boiler Water Treatment, Cooling Water Treatment, Effluent Treatment and all types of pre-treatment and dosing equipment supply and service.
