The successful candidate will have experience of fabrication design and ideally have experience or knowledge of pressure design codes, transport codes and/ or Cryogenics. Autocad 3D or inventor and/or FEA experience would be an advantage but not essential.

Position
As part of a Network Repairs team you will be expected to safely engineer and manage EHV, HV and LV network faults in line with defined targets and cost.
Key Responsibilities
Include:
• Repair EHV/HV and LV faults on the Northern Power Grid electrical distribution network.
• The ability to deal with reactive network faults where priorities can continually change and
decisive actions are required as part of the daily routine. This includes the ability to manage emergency situations.
• The enthusiasm and drive to ensure network faults are restored quickly and in line with new
company supply restoration targets. Full understanding of Ofgem guaranteed standards.
• Mentor, audit and lead junior members of staff with specific emphasis on the need to operate
safely and in line with the distribution safety rules and approved operational procedures. You will
be expected to deputise for the Zone Manager when required.
Key Competencies
Include:
• Senior Authorised Person upto 66/33kv (min 11kv) with experience of operating on high and low voltage overhead and underground cable distribution networks.
• Good technical understanding of electrical distribution networks including the ability to locate high and low voltage faults.
• Team Work/Leadership; the ability to lead and work within a team of Engineers, Contractors and Craftspeople.
• Communication; the ability to represent the company at formal meetings with external organisations.
• Customer Service; you will be expected to handle and resolve customer complaints in a quick, efficient and professional manor and in line with the company’s customer service broader measure.
Qualifications and Attributes
You should have a HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, be a Senior Authorised Person upto a minimum of 11kv, and have previous experience in High Voltage Operations. You should have a full understanding of the company’s safety and customer service requirements.
It would be desirable for you to hold B.Tech/BSc/BA in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, previous experience of mentoring employees is also desirable.
