Their focus is on precision machining, testing and assembly of performance-critical aircraft components for commercial and military aircraft and industrial power generation.

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will engineer both new and existing components in line with the organisations growing portfolio of products.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for:

- Successfully managing NPI projects to deliver on time and within budget.
- Conduct regular project meetings
- Develop robust manufacturing processes for a range of precision components
- Liaise directly with customer technical departments to resolve process related issues
- Configure machines to suit project requirements
- Work directly with suppliers to ensure the latest innovations in fixtures & tooling are employed
- Utilise solid models using CATIA V5, Solidworks and Vericut to produce and validate CNC programmes
- Produce detailed project documentation, set up packs, SOP's etc.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure all aspects of the projects are completed on time
- Pay specific attention to 'project detail'

You must be an experienced Manufacturing Engineer from a strong CNC machining background and be fully conversant with modern manufacturing techniques. In addition:
- You must be dynamic and enthusiastic with direct experience of machining precision prismatic and large precision turned components.
- You will have knowledge of CAD CAM systems with Solid Works and CATIA being a distinct advantage
- Have an understanding where process requirements such as heat treatment and coatings are carried out
- Have strong project management skills with the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Experience of APQP, PFMEA's with proven track record of NPI
- The ability to implement Lean techniques is essential

Support SSM and Finance in developing product costings for new products

Involvement with New Product Introduction (NPI) projects to promote DFM disciplines, agree manufacturing methods for hardware and, where required, develop new manufacturing techniques for innovative product designs

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Manufacturing Engineering department on CMM Offline / Online programming for various aspects of Casing, Prismatic and safety critical rotor part manufacture, as well as providing offline Calypso CMM programs for Casings and Rotor Head components from Catia models and drawings and providing associated support paperwork for the inspection process including bench inspection and converting existing Umess programs to the Calypso format.


Additionally you will liaise extensively with the Manufacturing and Design teams on an offline workstation and provide Calypso CMM programs for first off and full inspection requirements. You will define the CMM fixture and probe requirements for each job and create detailed set up sheets for each new component. You will also provide FAIRS (First Article Inspection Reports) and ICS (Inspection Check Sheets) to support the component manufacture, and maintain existing Calypso programs using the Seiki System.


To be considered for the challenging and varied role, you will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes (machining processes for turning, milling, grinding etc) and be fully conversant in the interpretation of engineering and manufacturing drawings. Essentially, experience of Calypso software (programming and job running) and hands on experience of both offline and online CMM programming are required for the role.


Additionally, you will ideally have experience in the use of Catia V5 and an understanding of FAIRS and ICS documentation and be familiar with DMFG (Digital Manufacturing Processes) and ASME Y14.43 Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
