My market leading client is now seeking an Embedded Engineer to join their established R&D function in their North London based offices. The ideal Embedded Engineer will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline and be able to illustrate experience in a similar role where you will have been involved in the full lifecycle of new product development.
The ideal Embedded Engineer will be able to illustrate experience with:
Embedded and Firmware design
C/C++, Assembler and PC software
A range of microcontrollers – PIC, ARM, 8051 etc
Communications (CAN, Ethernet, USB, RS485, GPRS, Bluetooth, RS232)
Any experience with hardware design (PCB Design, Analogue, Digital or hardware debugging) is highly desirable but not essential.

Embedded Engineer – Aylesbury - ~£40,000
A pivotal role has just been created for an Embedded Engineer to join a rapidly expanding client of mine in Aylesbury. The successful Embedded Engineer will be crucial to the development of a new product ranges as my client is expanding into new sectors and already has the customers waiting.
The ideal candidate will have experience with new product design and be comfortable working throughout the full development cycle from initial concept right through to manufacture. You ill have extensive experience of C programming and ideally with a range of microcontrollers (PIC, Texas instruments etc). Experience of hardware interfacing and design is highly desirable as is design of low powered devices using wireless protocols such as GPS, GPRS, GSM, RF or Zigbee.
Being an important role you will have strong communication and organization skills and be comfortable debugging, testing and maintaining yours and some old products. You will need to be comfortable facing customers when required and can expect to be central to the planned growth of the company.

Senior Embedded Engineer
I have today been tasked with recruiting an experienced Embedded Engineer to join a leading design and manufacture client of mine in the Surrey area. The ideal Embedded Engineer will be comfortable working in a small team environment and be able to contribute to the full development lifecycle from day one. There is work awaiting the successful candidate and my client could accommodate an immediate starter.
The ideal candidate will have extensive C programming experience in RTOS environments. Strong experience of MicroChip DSP programming and experience with a range of microprocessors and sizes from 6bit to 32bit, experience with ARM and PIC is highly desirable but not essential. Experience with hardware interfacing is required and experience with electronics design, specifically digital design is highly desired. My client design industrial machinery so experience in similar environments would be of interest whilst a strong mathematical background and problem solving approach is required.
Any experience of PID Control, Serial protocols – RS232, RS422 and EMC techniques are all highly desirable.
The client is offering a competitive salary of up to £40,000 and good benefits package for the right candidate including holiday, pension, flexi-time and bonus.

THE ROLE:
The Senior Embedded C++ Software Engineer will handle all software aspects of the design, development, and continuous improvement of state of the art professional digital audio systems for the live performance arena. Working within an Agile environment, this will include understanding requirements, producing mock-up designs, writing specifications, developing test harnesses, implementation of designs and systems integration, testing and more.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C++) role, you will be an experienced embedded C++ software engineer with proven experience in the development of embedded software, ideally but not essentially for the professional audio / music industry. It is essential that you can demonstrate strong experience in object orientated design, design patterns and the implementation of large scale software projects.
You will have solid knowledge of real time programming and multithreading with good knowledge of operative system concepts, components and architectures (preferably Linux).
In addition to embedded C++ developer skills, any experience of the following would also be an advantage: Linux or Embedded Linux; Low-level Ethernet programming - TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast, IGMP, VoIP, Ethernet switch control, low-level hardware programming - control and interface to FPGAs, CPLDs etc, Linux Kernel drivers, PCM digital audio using SHARC-based DSP, GUI and graphical design, OpenGL, DirectFB or DirectX7, USB or graphics drivers, Agile methodologies.
Knowledge of professional Audio Software/Hardware would also help but is not essential. A passion for music and audio would also be a bonus. DSP Engineer and GUI Development roles are also available.
