An ambitious electronics engineer is required to develop custom electronics for our growing range of products. You will have detailed knowledge of the application of microelectronics to signal processing, data acquisition, and motion control as well as broad understanding of drives and controls, optical systems, and sensors. The ability to write software for embedded devices would be a distinct advantage.
You will be currently working as an electronics design engineer in a technically challenging environment with demonstrable experience in the application of microelectronics, with strong capabilities of analysis, creativity and experimentation. You will be responsible for applying your knowledge and experience across the full life cycle of development of custom products, to solve technically complex problems across a range of technologies, including: signal processing, data acquisition, motion control, drive systems, and controls, optical systems and sensors.
Essential Skills:
• A 1st or 2.1 (Hons) degree in Electronics or Software from a top university.
• 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at A or B grade.
• Considerable hardware design experience of signal processing & data acquisition.
• Understanding of drives, controls, optics and sensors.
• Experience of schematic capture & PCB layout software.

• Embedded software development.

We are seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to work for a multi-national automotive supplier based in Solihull. Ideally we are seeking someone at Principal Engineer level but will consider candidates of all abilities provided they have a Power Electronics background
What You Will Do
As a Power Electronics Engineer you will do the following
- Electronic Circuit Design: create circuits for power supplies, drivers for electric motors all in a safety critical environment
- Circuit analysis (tolerancing and worst case scenarios)
- Verification and test to ensure designs are fit for purpose
What You Will Need
To be considered for the position of power electronics engineer you will need the following
- Degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering
- Experience in electronic design of power electronics in high reliability environment eg aero, auto, rail (not telecoms), (or a recent graduate with a 2i or higher with a project that focused on electronic design)
- Clear communicator
- At least 12 months clear eligibility to work in UK
- Able to travel internationally
In addition to the above, the following would be of advantage as a power electronics engineer
- Some automotive experience
- 12V / 1KW experience
- Working at Senior or principal level and direct the work of others

My client is a 2 year old company specialising in bespoke multi-touch capacitive touchscreen designs and related Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) technologies. They are now adding to a team of engineering professionals that are working closely with their customers to deliver custom solutions which meet their demanding touch sensing requirements. Think iPad style touch performance on your microwave oven and you get the picture. Job Overview: This role is part of a team of Project and CAD engineers focused on fast-turn, high quality capacitive multi-touch sensor designs and their supporting flex and rigid PCBs. This role is highly customer focused and requires professional interaction with the customer's design team all the way from project concept through to mass production. Our clients USP is that they "own" the touch design problem through all phases so avoiding the customer needing to become expert in this highly challenging field. In order to achieve that aim, design engineers at need to be multi-disciplined. Capacitive touch and Human Interface related issues require a "challenging" mix of skills: analogue electronic, electric field physics, materials properties, software interaction, host driver creation, some digital circuit design, and some Microcontroller knowledge. Candidates with a practical "build it and see" approach will be strongly favoured. Mandatory: 1. A degree (or close international equivalent) in Electronics or Physics (2-1 or better). Other degree subjects will considered if the candidate can display good aptitude in the required disciplines 2. Hands-on experience of electronic circuit design and debug 3.
