This General Sales Manager appointment is with a highly successful and growing manufacturer and developer of intelligent workforce management and time and attendance solutions. It has developed a highly impressive portfolio of products and services including time and attendance, mobile workforce management, biometric time and attendance, labour costing and absence management to name some and it has an enviable reputation for quality. Operating from a base in Yorkshire with a turnover of c£10m and c100 colleagues it is looking to achieve significant organic growth and this new role is pivotal in this strategy.
The General Sales Manager role is supported by an extensive marketing programme which generates a significant number of qualified sales leads and there is a broad ranging customer base from SMEs to large corporate clients, contract values are substantial and the sales cycle is multi-stage and often involving complex contract details. The focus of this General Manager role is to deliver a 20% growth plan and to put in place all the supporting actions in terms of training, development, activity reporting, targeting, sales administration and controls in order to achieve this.
A high-calibre sales leader with a proven track record in B2B sales is required. As General Sales Manager you are likely to be graduate qualified and have strong, modern IT competencies and you will need to bring a track record of success in a B2B environment demonstrating career progression through sales, business development, account management and sales leadership. You will also need to demonstrate team development, coaching and culture change experience and have the gravitas and credibility to lead an experienced team of professionals. To some extent, the client is open-minded with regard to your specific product and market knowledge, however you must have trained and developed sales teams who operate in the SME and large corporate environment within a competitive UK marketplace. Specific sectors of interest to the client include software, complex telephone systems, server based systems, power control systems or complex products used in the business environment.
