Our client has an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Commerical Director, to be part of the executive management team implementing the companys growth strategy, developing sales and marketing initiatives and organizing and controlling our exhibitions programme.

The position of Assistant Commerical Director is intended to co-ordinate and control these different business area sales and marketing activities. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Assistant Commerical Director will, be expected to liaise with the various business areas and manage a media/communications and sales team, some of whom operate from overseas locations for extended periods of time.

The successful candidate needs to be results driven, have a comprehensive understanding and empathy with the industries we serve and considerable experience of the supply chains (manufacturers, distributors sourcing companies and retailers) that my client supports. Knowledge and experience of working within a membership based environment is crucial as it is the ability to liaise, network and interact culturally and technically with senior industry figures - particularly from China, India and other parts of the Far East. Extensive travel will be a feature of the role.

Longer term, it is anticipated that the position will warrant appointment to the Board of Directors as an Executive Director.

Salary Circa £51K plus benefits and travel payments, benefits include a Company Stakeholder Pension Plan; Company Car; 25 days Annual Leave; Life Assurance; flexible working, subsidised dining facilities and free car parking.

This role will be specifically working on remediation works and historic jobs. The successful candidate will be required to prepare budget cost plans to support site appraisals, prepare and tender material schedules, establish and maintain key supplier relationships, procure, tender and appoint sub-contractor packages, manage and resolve sub-contractor variations and negotiate final accounts, produce financial performance review summaries, allocate work to contractors, go through historic orders, schedules and contracts, deal with retentions and will need to have a demonstrable track record of taking ownership of residential developments and display a good all round commercial awareness.

All Candidates MUST have previous at least 10 years experience, as a minimum, in a senior surveyor role with a UK based residential developer, PQS Firm or main contractor working on complex, high rise developments, MUST have prior experience of dealing with historic contractual issues and/or remediation works, MUST supply at least two references with their application and MUST currently live within easy travelling distance of Central London.
