Position: Manufacturing Support Engineer
Location: North Yorkshire
Salary: circa £30k per annum
ROLE:
As a producer of lighting and other systems for off-road vehicles, our client requires a Manufacturing Engineer to join their company as they are expanding their range of products to include more complex electronic systems and updating their methods of production. You will be relied upon to optimise their production processes, update their production equipment & systems and ensure that their components are being worked with and stored in a suitable fashion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Investigating potential improvements to the Production Department.
b) Refining production processes.
c) Optimising production flow.
d) Minimising component rejections.
e) Contributing to the production of job control process/standard operating procedures.
f) Designing and carrying out testing.
g) Advising Operatives on how to work best with materials and components.
h) Improve production systems based on information from Quality & Engineering Departments.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Experience of working in an ISO 9001:2008 / 14001:2004 workplace.
b) Producing and working with 2D and 3D CAD drawings – preferably with Solidworks.
c) Practical experience working with both mechanical and electronic systems.
d) Knowledge of electronic, electrical and mechanical production and test processes including industry standards.
e) HND, HNC or better in Engineering.
f) Understanding of Lean/None value added process methodology.
You may have experience of the following: Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Process Engineer, AutoCAD, Production Engineer, Automotive, Draughtsman, Mechanical Engineer, etc.

Site Engineer
A BESC Qualified site engineer is required for Overhead Lines & Cables projects in London and the South East. The Site Engineer role is an initial 12 month contract based in the Croyden area.
The role is responsible for acting as the Engineers Representative and interfacing with the Principal Contractors Site Managers or Supervisors. The successful applicant will have prior Site Engineer or Site Management experience working on Overhead Lines schemes and projects.
Candidates will need to hold 'Person' and Substations BESC authorisation in addition to a strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations. Ideally

The Role
The QA Weld Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the quality management system and participation in manufacturing process and system improvements. You will also be supporting the quality activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Investigating instances of product and process failure and conduct effect root cause analysis.
· Conducting continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system and improve product quality.
· Developing and delivering training to build quality awareness within the manufacturing teams.
· Interfacing with Engineering and Operations to ensure the transfer to production of new products is in accordance with the desired specifications.
· Conducting internal quality management system audits.
· Supporting the Supplier Development Engineer with the management of the supply chain.
· Compiling monthly QA reports and KPI’s.
· Reviewing new orders for welding requirements.
· Maintaining Excel spreadhseets for supplier rejection, corrective action reporting and customer returns data.
The Candidate
In order to be successful in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a passion and responsibility for the customer. You will also need to be willing to travel to customers and suppliers as and when required.
Successful candidates should have:
· Minimum ONC In Engineering
· 5 Years prior experience in Quality Assurance in an engineered product manufacturer.
· CSWIP - Visual Welding Inspecor Level 1 - minimum requirement.
· Experience in quality management systems and quality system audits.
· Experience in using a range of measuring and inspection equipment

SHESQ Sensible Monitoring - Assure the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements in an oversight capacity. Provide oversight to ensure that regular PC Site Progress Meetings are being held and minutes of these meetings are being progresses to assure that all key stakeholders are fully engaged Inspect, approve or reject materials and workmanship. Notify PC/Contractor of defects. Undertake the role of Engineer's representative for sensible monitoring of site construction activities and assure that an effective PC H&SMS is in place for the site. Ensure that a PC documentation management system is established and maintained on site Track and escalate any deviations/change from the agreed Work Instruction through to the Project Engineer. Undertake the role of Supervisor as defined/delegated within the relevant AAA/EPC contract. Additional Information (eg special terms, need to travel, notice period (if not standard 4 weeks): The role of the CIE may necessitate multiple site coverage on a national basis (England & Wales). This will depend on the extent and nature of the project work undertaken. The roles is to be initially aligned to London and the South.
