Reporting to the Managing Director the post holder will be a member of the senior management team. This role is primarily responsible for the strategic and operational management of Quality, and Health & Safety of the site. This includes regulatory compliance i.e. ISO9001, 14001 and 18001 and related EU directives. He/she will also make a significant contribution to manufacturing related projects. As part of this role the post holder will:
* Train employees on quality objectives.
* Be responsible for co-ordinating and leading regulatory and certification inspections and subsequent implementation activities.
* Act as an internal and external consultant on quality and regulatory issues working in either a leadership or team role within a cross functional team
* Lead teams or task groups especially when objectives are quality related
* Provide support /review projects and or work groups to produce the desired outcome.
* Provide Technical and Managerial expertise and creativity used to evaluate proposed solutions, adaptations and modifications to projects to include:Resolve Quality related problems within functional areas of the business, recommending and driving changes where necessary through the review, evaluation and development of personnel.

Minimum Knowledge/Qualifications

* Knowledge and experience gained through a recognised qualification in an Engineering related discipline with a minimum of five years experience in a relevant industry sector

Our client has a reputation for excellence in durable, lightweight, precision engineered instruments and low power motorised platforms and associated products currently require a Project Manager to manage and deliver both internally funded and externally funded development programmes in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales as defined by the Business Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
To take ownership of assigned projects and work with the engineering and operations teams, subcontractors and customers to deliver successful project outcomes in accordance with the company’s ISO9001 procedures, agreed budgets and timescales.
This will include:
* setting clear objectives for the project teams;
* preparing and monitoring work plans for staff and teams to deliver the objectives;
* managing and controlling project documentation;
* managing and controlling the project phase review process;
* proactively monitoring project progress to provide timely warnings of any potential problems and associated solutions; and
* Reporting project progress to the Business Director and Senior Management Team on a routine basis.
For customer funded projects:
* To manage projects so as to ensure that the customer is happy to place future business with the company
* To support the Business Director Systems and Sales & Marketing Teams to secure follow on business; and
* To represent the company in a professional manner with customers at all times.
* To assist the Business Directors to identify training or development needs for project staff.
* To work with the Business Director and Sales & Marketing Team to generate costed proposals for new business.
* To carry out any other related tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Business Director
Additional Info
* This is a contract position being offered for one year only with a start date of possibly mid-June.
* Would consider relocation expenses for the right candidate.
* Package will depend on experience but is likely to be in the range 50-60K

Ideal Skills and Experience
·Minimum HND preferably degree level qualification in electrical engineering (with possibly a qualification in mechanical engineering) having a good practical engineering background.
