Their recently opened Bristol office now has a requirement for an independent and resourceful Mechanical Project Engineer to manage a range of projects from design through to installation.
Reporting into the Engineering Manager you will lead or work alongside small project teams adding input and value to technical aspects of projects whilst managing the commercial activities from client lead. You will maintain the mechanical integrity and functionality of current designs and be involved with producing new engineering solutions.
Qualified to HND as a minimum, you will be structured, systematic and resourceful and have an understanding of engineering drawings and terminology. Mathematically literate with engineering experience associated with cranes or large industrial machinery would be preferable. An essential attribute is computer literacy and experience with MS Project and Autocad would be seen as an advantage.

Project Engineer
Boeing Defence UK is seeking to employ several Project Engineers to work as part of the Special Engineering & Integration Team within LogNEC Delivery Partner. LogNEC is a key IT programme for the delivery of logistic support within the Ministry of Defence and therefore provides an exciting, long term opportunity for the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide the Engineering coordination of a variety of complex IT change requests through managing a cross functional team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
• Leads, manages and supports proposal development for a portfolio of change requests to the baseline and leads the execution of the change, in line with PRINCE 2 project management best practice, by identifying activities, resources, documents and events required to complete the work.
• In addition, identifies appropriate performance metrics.
• Develop supplier statements of work (SSOW) to satisfy a variety of change requests, which include research and development, ongoing and new business requirements.
• Identifies, analyses and manages changes and assesses the impact of those changes on the current baseline and advises on the best course of action.
• Plans, identifies and coordinates resources required over the life of the change or programme.
• Identifies and defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity.
• Identifies and resolves issues expeditiously.
• Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess change/project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
• Implements corrective actions to improve performance in the future.
• Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of the change/project or team plan.
• The successful candidate will work collaboratively within an integrated Customer and Delivery Partner team environment, working closely with a wide range of functional staff, including engineering, product support, supplier management, commercial and finance.
You should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
• ANALYTICAL SKILLS. Ability to investigate, analyse and benchmark industry practices.
• COMMUNICATION SKILLS. Highly developed communication skills and able to deliver coherent and persuasive written and verbal briefs.
• INDUSTRY AND GOVERNMENT STANDARDS. Knowledge of industry, military and government specifications, handbooks and standards.
• MANAGING WORK. Able to prioritise and recognise critical versus non critical tasks. Makes effective use of time and resources.

Typical Education/Experience:
Preferably educated to Degree or Diploma in an Engineering Discipline with a 2:1 or higher.
Previous experience in an IT related environment essential. PRINCE2 or APMP qualified is desirable. Requires expertise and experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Vision.

As an internationally recognised engineering company, Alderley develop, design, manufacture and provide produced water treatment solutions, water injection, wellhead controls and fiscal / custody transfer metering systems for the oil & gas industry.
They are looking to recruit a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer with Produced Water Treatment experience to join their team based just north of Bristol. The company are experiencing continued growth both in the UK and overseas and as a result the role of Project Engineer has been created to ensure they meet the demand.
The role requires you to control and carry out mechanical design, cost estimation and project delivery of Produced Water Treatment solutions and other skid based systems in accordance with project specifications and statutory requirements. You will also take responsibility for all project activities allocated by the Project Manager.
Ideally qualified to HNC as a minimum, you will need to demonstrate relevant experience of small project delivery, from inception to completion, within a design and fabrication environment of skid mounted packaged equipment within the process industry. You will also be an expert in the coordination and compilation of bid and procurement packages.
Produced Water Treatment package experience is essential to be a success within this role.

They have extensive expansion plans that they have started to implement and part of this expansion plan the Bristol office is creating a new Hydraulics team to service clients in the South West and South Wales. They now have recruitment requirements to allow them to completely capitalise on the work they are winning and the work they are expected to gain in the next few months.
They are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Hydraulic Engineer to report into the Engineering Manager and lead a small team of designers and Project Engineers.
If appointed to the senior position you will also be responsible for the management of projects and associated 3rd parties. You will take the lead in the development of the departments technical capabilities through innovative and creative design.
Job duties:
- Production of design concepts and schemes, the approval of associated drawings mechanical, hydraulic and system drawings, using CAD (mainly AutoCAD)
- Analysing historical and current designs to meet customer specification
- Preparation of detailed reports (FEED submissions, work packs) and commercial cost estimates
- Concept design, specification and installation of new build equipment
- Undertake client visits to support specific projects as required – this could include international travel and/or offshore visits
- Adhering to company and client document control standards, ensuring consistent checking/approval of drawings and data
- Project reporting and liaison with the client
- Approval of design, installation and test procedures. Checking delivery of finished projects and related products
- Assist other department personnel in ongoing design, manufacture and installation projects as required
- To manage the design process, assuming design authority and delivering an appropriate solution on time and budget
You will be qualified to degree level in mechanical or hydraulic engineering as a minimum and have analytical and mathematical skills associated with large industrial hydraulic systems.
