Manufacturing Engineer
Manufacturing engineer focused on scale-up of the fuel cell manufacturing equipment and processes. Research, investigate and develop new and existing manufacturing solutions for High Volume Manufacture, whilst providing engineering support to current processes.

Key Accountabilities:
• Manufacturing engineering of the Fuel Cells
• Organise parts, building and paperwork for prototypes
• Interface with engineering, test and systems
• Set up production cells
• Keep up to date on technology and products
• Research and investigate new solutions to manufacturing problems.
• Develop current manufacturing processes and product for High Volume Manufacturability
• Assist in the acquisition of new equipment, including planning for delivery and commissioning
• Develop supplier relationships
• Assist in the design of production intent tooling and fixtures
• Provide support for manufacturing operations
• Liaise with manufacturing operations and research and development to solve problems
• Ensure equipment performs within the expected ranges of performance, troubleshooting those that do not

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
• BEng or HND in Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience
• Hands on engineer
• Detail understanding of ‘Design for Manufacture’
• Aptitude for mechanical work including the understanding of basic mechanical processes
• Experienced in the design of fixtures and tooling
• Experienced in using SPC, and DOE for process control
and development
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• H&S understanding
• AutoCad & Pro Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical
This position requires extensive experience within an assembly Manufacturing environment as a Manufacturing Engineer.

Evaluating best manufacturing practices; understanding the root causes of lost time, poor performance and field failures. A good understanding of best working practices so that products can be efficiently developed from design through product development and into efficient production methods.

The individual must be highly motivated and enthusiastic to achieve technical milestones and business targets. Individual must also have a strong customer focus and dynamic enough to work within a team to create change within a very fast moving environment.

KEY DELIVERABLES:
 Product cost reduction with process capability
 Quality improvements (non-recurring CAR’s, NCR’s, ECN’s)
 Efficient manufacturing methods especially in regard to welding and bespoke systems
 Component engineering (Create BOMs, Operations and Routings)
 Create training manuals and work instructions as well as document and implement stable processes
 Liaise with Design Office for effective design assessments/proto-typing

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 Experience of low volume and batch production environments
 Experience of DFM and DFx
 Lean Six Sigma experience
 Knowledge of engineering components (BOMs, Ops and Routings)
 Excellent computer skills (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, email, ERP)
 Determined, with a high level of initiative and energy
 Proven leader of change to drive business measurements
 Excellent communication skills
 Self-motivated and customer-orientated
 Highly flexible with strategic vision and sense of urgency

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 5-years experience in mechanical engineering within a manufacturing environment

 Qualified to Degree level in Manufacturing/Production engineering

The successful candidate will be an experienced Planning / Production Engineer responsible for facilitating the introduction of new products in to the business, with the main area of focus being to organize, set up and optimize production while observing specifications and customer specific criterias.

Progress Fuel Cell Stack engineering design and development to provide a family of Fuel Cell Stacks capable of low cost volume manufacture.

Key Accountabilities
• Product design and development of fuel cell stacks across all programmes (including ownership of key sub-assemblies)
• Perform design and development activities to enhance stack manufacturability, performance and reliability
