World class Defence Organisation based in Lostock, Bolton is currently looking to recruit 2x experienced Production Test Engineers (Electronics).

The contract is initially for 6 months (ongoing after).

The hourly rate is £20 per hour.

Production Test Engineer Job Description:

Production Test and Diagnostics of Complex weapons at System and Subsystem level.

Test Engineer, responsible for technical support to the manufacture and test of Complex Weapons in production, to ensure production targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements. Specific responsibilities: -
Test of complex electronic equipment, and diagnosis of production test failures down to component level. Identification of corrective action, in a timely manner allowing Manufacturing to continue production in line with programme.
Technical support to Test Operators to facilitate the efficient throughput of Prime hardware during production. Assessment of related Test Equipment issues, directing support services to resolve equipment failures.
Evaluation of Technical problems in order to develop proposals for investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements.
Test Engineering representative at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action.

Skills & Experience:

HNC/HND (Electronics) Level of Qualifications or equivalent, plus substantial level of experience in Digital and Analogue Electronics Manufacture and Test.
A good understand of measurement and test principles, and equipment.
A good understanding of RF and Microwave technology at subsystem level would be an advantage.

A leading engineering firm in rural Hampshire specialising in the design and manufacture of educational and demonstration models for the teaching of engineering principles requires a Development Engineer to develop new products and ranges. The business is capitalising upon recent success and the Development Engineer will build-up the product range and report to the Technical Director.

The role will require a working and/or theoretical knowledge of thermodynamics and a familiarisation of CAD software in order to generate 2D and 3D engineering drawings, organising these drawings, parts lists and all files associated with the project. The role will also drive the development and improvement of existing products and time management will be employed effectively to manage this alongside new product development. Parts lists, manuals and documentation will be produced and the role will naturally require the testing of products.

THE ROLE:

The Senior Embedded C++ Software Engineer will handle all software aspects of the design, development, and continuous improvement of state of the art professional digital audio systems for the live performance arena. Working within an Agile environment, this will include understanding requirements, producing mock-up designs, writing specifications, developing test harnesses, implementation of designs and systems integration, testing and more.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C++) role, you will be an experienced embedded C++ software engineer with proven experience in the development of embedded software, ideally but not essentially for the professional audio / music industry. It is essential that you can demonstrate strong experience in object orientated design, design patterns and the implementation of large scale software projects.

You will have solid knowledge of real time programming and multithreading with good knowledge of operative system concepts, components and architectures (preferably Linux).

In addition to embedded C++ developer skills, any experience of the following would also be an advantage: Linux or Embedded Linux; Low-level Ethernet programming - TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast, IGMP, VoIP, Ethernet switch control, low-level hardware programming - control and interface to FPGAs, CPLDs etc, Linux Kernel drivers, PCM digital audio using SHARC-based DSP, GUI and graphical design, OpenGL, DirectFB or DirectX7, USB or graphics drivers, Agile methodologies.

Knowledge of professional Audio Software/Hardware would also help but is not essential. A passion for music and audio would also be a bonus. DSP Engineer and GUI Development roles are also available.

A Degree qualified Project Engineer with prior experience of managing decommissioning project works within the Nuclear sector is required for an initial 12 month Project Engineer contract role in the Cumbria area.
