My client is a major global engineering consultancy, they currently have an opportunity for a Examining Engineer to undertake and offer comprehensive examination reports on a number of rail related structures. The consultancy has an excellent reputation for its delivery; they have secured a large workload and operate alongside an interesting and varied client base.

For this position my client is seeking a Engineer who has extensive experience in carrying out rail related examinations across a number of frameworks. Your primary responsibilities will be to undertake the reviewing of examination reports whilst working towards Network Rail STE2 competence qualification, work as a member of a central CEFA Reviewing Engineer and to undertake tunnel examinations working towards Network Rail STE6 Competence qualification. Further, you will support the CEFA Technical Director and Territory Examining Engineers.

You will be degree qualified or HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering whilst being Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartered status. Further, you will have a minimum of fie years experience of industry experience in structural examinations, maintenance or assessment. Additionally you will have experience with writing detailed structural reviews and will have experience of working within a rail infrastructure environment.

As a result of continued growth we are now looking to recruit a Fire and Security Engineer who will take on the interesting and challenging role of maintaining and servicing security and fire systems across a network of high profile supermarket sites across Carlisle

The main direction of the role and responsibilities are:

• To be the technical specialist for designated stores responsible for undertaking first call response to Fire, CCTV, EAS, Access Control.
• Carry out required Fire PPM visits to BS5839
• To ensure all planned, reactive and statutory works designated to a CCTV engineer is carried out in accordance with contractual obligations as set out in the City FM Bookcase.
• To undertake maintenance and repairs in accordance with KPI’s set by the customer including, but not limited to response, repair, first fix, and closure.
• To complete the PPM works within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures and satisfactory standards.
• To respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk during normal hours and when on call. For avoidance of doubt out of hours will be referred to the specialist in the first instance.

You will hold a recognised electrical qualification (City and Guilds/NVQ) and have a working knowledge of CCTV and EAS systems.

In addition, and equally as important you will be able to demonstrate knowledge of Protec Fire Detection Systems.

As a Project Engineer you are responsible for undertaking engineering design, calculation and preparation of descriptive drawings for standard and systems products.

Utilising your engineering and design knowledge you will also carry out specialist projects with regard to customer specific / unusual requirements.

You will manage projects for the supply of vacuum pumps and systems and prepare and/or amend bills of materials for standard and project-based products.

Prepare engineering design and descriptive drawings using 2D AutoCAD and 3D Solidworks packages, technical data or performance charts for standard and systems products.

You will need a Degree in mechanical or similar engineering discipline and experience of 3D CAD, (Ideally Solidworks, but not essential).

There are 2 permanent positions available.

Good project management skills and experience of mechanical, metal, rotational equipment (experience of cast materials is highly desirable).

A leading engineering firm in rural Hampshire specialising in the design and manufacture of educational and demonstration models for the teaching of engineering principles requires a Development Engineer to develop new products and ranges. The business is capitalising upon recent success and the Development Engineer will build-up the product range and report to the Technical Director.

The role will require a working and/or theoretical knowledge of thermodynamics and a familiarisation of CAD software in order to generate 2D and 3D engineering drawings, organising these drawings, parts lists and all files associated with the project. The role will also drive the development and improvement of existing products and time management will be employed effectively to manage this alongside new product development. Parts lists, manuals and documentation will be produced and the role will naturally require the testing of products.

The successful candidate will be innovative, an original thinker and have a natural ingenuity. They will naturally be a strong team player although they will be expected to work from their own initiative. The candidate will report to, and be given instruction by, the Technical Director, however they will be able to work with minimal management. The candidate will be capable of carrying out standard engineering workshop practices including the operation of standard equipment and fault-finding.
