We have an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly) based in Halewood for a leading OEM, this Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly) role is for an initial period of 6 months at a rate of £24.53 per hour (LTD).

To be considered for this Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly) role, you will need to have demonstrable experience in:

- Working on processes on the assembly line in an automotive environment to right first time standards (NPI introduction)
- The use and implementation of lean principles including Poke Yoke, Kaizen, SPC and 5S
- Using PFMEA's and control plans to minimise defects

In addition, you must have a good level of education (HND in Engineering related discipline) as a minimum and a full driving licence.

- 6 month contract initially
- £24.53 per hour based on a 40 hour week with an early finish on a Friday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer (Plastic Moulding) based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire to join part of an emerging division in a global plastic moulding company which supports many sectors including automotive and telecommunications.

Due to growth in the UK market the Project Engineer will take ownership of NPI (New Product Introduction) from start to finish. This stock listed company actively supports the training and development of staff who wish to advance their career. The company employs thousands of staff worldwide; the UK division has engineering, design, moulding, machining and assembly capabilities.

As a Project Engineer your duties will include:

• Being responsible for NPD (New product development) projects.
• Working with automotive clients you will review plastic injection mould tool design.
• Liaising with global toolmakers to track progress and manage the production of the plastic moulds. Using your tool making and/or injection mould knowledge you will technically support each project through the project milestones.
• Reporting to the Operations Director you control cost saving, quality issues and product sign off.

An ideal Project Engineer will hold the following skills and experiences:

• Ideally you will have an engineering background in the plastic moulding sector.
• Experience in tool making, tooling design, plastic injection moulding and aspire to take the next step into Project Engineering.
• Working knowledge of APQP and NPI processes.
• There will be a requirement to travel overseas, approx 4 trips per year for periods up to 1 or 2 weeks.
• Qualification: Time serviced/HNC/Degree

The working hours of this role are Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.

In return you will receive a salary of £29,000 - £32,950 Basic per annum plus a Pension - up to 6% contribution, Holidays 24 days and Bank Holiday.

As a Project Engineer you are responsible for undertaking engineering design, calculation and preparation of descriptive drawings for standard and systems products.

Utilising your engineering and design knowledge you will also carry out specialist projects with regard to customer specific / unusual requirements.

You will manage projects for the supply of vacuum pumps and systems and prepare and/or amend bills of materials for standard and project-based products.

Prepare engineering design and descriptive drawings using 2D AutoCAD and 3D Solidworks packages, technical data or performance charts for standard and systems products.

You will need a Degree in mechanical or similar engineering discipline and experience of 3D CAD, (Ideally Solidworks, but not essential).

Good project management skills and experience of mechanical, metal, rotational equipment (experience of cast materials is highly desirable).

The business is capitalising upon recent success and the Development Engineer will build-up the product range and report to the Technical Director.

The role will require a working and/or theoretical knowledge of thermodynamics and a familiarisation of CAD software in order to generate 2D and 3D engineering drawings, organising these drawings, parts lists and all files associated with the project. The role will also drive the development and improvement of existing products and time management will be employed effectively to manage this alongside new product development. Parts lists, manuals and documentation will be produced and the role will naturally require the testing of products.

The candidate will report to, and be given instruction by, the Technical Director, however they will be able to work with minimal management. My client is a major global engineering consultancy, they currently have an opportunity for a Examining Engineer to undertake and offer comprehensive examination reports on a number of rail related structures. The consultancy has an excellent reputation for its delivery; they have secured a large workload and operate alongside an interesting and varied client base.

For this position my client is seeking a Engineer who has extensive experience in carrying out rail related examinations across a number of frameworks. Your primary responsibilities will be to undertake the reviewing of examination reports whilst working towards Network Rail STE2 competence qualification, work as a member of a central CEFA Reviewing Engineer and to undertake tunnel examinations working towards Network Rail STE6 Competence qualification. Further, you will support the CEFA Technical Director and Territory Examining Engineers.

You will be degree qualified or HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering whilst being Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartered status. Further, you will have a minimum of fie years experience of industry experience in structural examinations, maintenance or assessment. Additionally you will have experience with writing detailed structural reviews and will have experience of working within a rail infrastructure environment.
