Working exclusively on their behalf we are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy technical department and contribute to the Company’s future growth.
The ideal candidate will be a self starter, capable of developing new ideas and processes which will impact positively on manufacturing efficiency. Working on interesting and varied key responsibilities include;
• Work on new projects from a given specification and / or product improvements to agreed timescales.
• To generate detailed general assembly drawings and Bill of Materials ensuring they are to the agreed standards and within specification.
• Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs
• To reduce product costs by redesigning existing designs, including designing new components and / or assembly processes.
• Assist production engineering when requested.
• To collaborate fully with production engineering on new product launch
To be considered for this role the successful candidate will have;
• A strong mechanical design background
• A good working knowledge of Autocad-lite and SolidWorks
• Qualified to HND or degree level in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of pressure vessels, pipe work assemblies, pneumatic circuits, sheet metal assemblies and machined components. Experience of the air-conditioning and refrigeration industries would also be desirable.

You will be HND or Degree qualified in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Controls Systems Engineering or an equivalent Mechatronics or Automation qualification, and will demonstrate at least 10 years experience in the design, development and build of special purpose machinery and systems integration for advanced manufacturing systems, with at least 5 years experience gained within a new product development environment. Additional experience of synchronised multi-axes servo motion control, including software position lock CAM control and PLC Open –motion control libraries, CODESYS (motion controller and PLC software development system) and of the IEC 61131-3 programming system (or proficiency in C++/C#/object orientated programming) will also prove distinctly advantageous, as will experience of the software Design Process and associated documentation, including state transition diagrams, data dictionary and data flow diagrams. Knowledge of EPAS – 4/Lenze PLC3, EtherCAT Interfaces or SERCOS will also be favourably considered.
With your exhaustive skills and experience in electrical hardware design activities, including single phase and three phase circuit design, DC circuits including digital and analogue inputs and outputs interfacing to PLC I/O modules, and Control outputs and status input monitoring solutions, as well as in the creation of associated documentation for AC/DC circuits, panel layouts, wiring schedules and BOMs, and will additionally undertake the modification of existing machine designs and the development of new machine designs using the Autocad Electrical design package.
