Our client is renowned as a market leader in the supply of engineering solutions allied to the Nuclear sector, and as a result of continuing success and a planned program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a number of Mechanical Engineers keen to pursue a career in this challenging and specialist market sector and who will demonstrate a previous track record of working within a maintenance or operational environment (ideally allied to nuclear related projects) and are committed to meeting customer’s requirements in line with budgets and timescale constraints.
The successful person will need to have:
• A good track record of working within a maintenance and operational environment, particularly in the field of nuclear / power generation sectors
• Experience of implementation of design (Assembly and commissioning) and mechanical fault diagnosis and repair
• Experience of nuclear or clean room procedures and of working in controlled areas wearing protective equipment
• A valid driving license and car insurance
• Completed Safety Passport as a minimum, with IOSH Managing Safely preferred
• Be able to secure and maintain security clearance for working on UK nuclear sites.
The successful individual will ideally have completed a HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years experience of site supervision leading multi skilled engineering teams, with previous experience of mechanical design and written safe systems of working, and a flexible approach to work flexible hours when required including occasional shifts and call out work.
Reporting to the Site or Client Line Manager, you must be willing to spend extended periods away from home as the position is site based, and will liaise with personnel both internal and external to the company to ensure that the requirements of all parties are executed in a safe manner and to a high standard and ensure conformance to all local client and company procedures, including the relevant legislation.
Additionally, you will carry out a range of other duties and special projects as required and will work flexibly within the team to ensure that the current and future needs of the business are met, and ensuring that they understand and sign onto the relevant safe systems of work associated with the task. You will also be responsible for recording any problems encountered during the progress of the work and notify their line management of the details in a prompt manner, as well as producing and reviewing accurate, appropriate method statements, risk assessments and other safety documentation, in order to prepare work packs.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a nuclear industry experienced engineer with an immediate start (subject to transferrable SC clearance) available. Those candidates able to demonstrate experience of working with British Energy will be considered favourably.

Experience with BS8888 and ASME Y14.100 drawing standards is required along with proficiency in the use of ProENGINEER Creo Element/Pro 5.0 and PDM-Link. Experience with Teamcenter is also desirable. Additional Information Experience of preparing technical component and assembly drawings for the Aerospace Industry is desirable. The role will include taking CAD models produced by Mechanical Engineers and developing these into fully dimensioned production drawings. Mechanical Project Engineer Home based to £35-40k
Our client specialise in the provision of bespoke automation and materials handling solutions to some of the biggest names in the UK. As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned program of strategic expansion, they are now seeking to recruit an articulate, dynamic and highly self motivated and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to complement their established and successful project team.
Working with fellow Project Engineers, the successful candidate will be tasked with consulting on the design and development of a Grocery Home Shopping network for a major retailer within the UK. Whilst based from home, you will regularly be required to travel to Leeds in this position.
The successful candidate will ideally be degree qualified in a relevant mechanical engineering related discipline and will demonstrate a proven background and track record allied to materials handling systems or automation projects. You will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to work both autonomously well as part of a multiskilled team, and will be comfortable in working closely in a customer facing environment with internal and external contacts, so exceptional communication skills at all levels are essential for the position.
You will be responsible for a range of project activities including (but not limited to) extensive equipment selection and design whilst working with multiple suppliers, interpreting supplier specifications, solution costing and value engineering activities, initial contract specification and subsequent communication with suppliers and the customer at various stages of the project.
To be considered for this varied and extremely challenging position, you will demonstrate previous materials handling installation and project management experience as well as the ability to write and produce tender documents and technically appraise solutions on a diverse range of customer projects. Additionally you will be flexible to travel throughout the UK and Europe and therefore a valid passport and a full driving licence are essential for the position.
