Design and Development Team Leader - Embedded Systems About the Position: Innovative Physics Ltd (IPL) is a small dynamic startup company working at the forefront of radiation technology.�The company designs and builds solid state radiation sensors that are built into its own range of hand held products, or integrated into our customers systems.� The role of the Design & Development Team Leader will be to manage the day to day activities of the engineering team, and to work closely with the Programme Manager to drive forward IPL's new product development.� The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the product based development of analogue and digital electronics, power supply, FPGA and microcontrollers, as well as knowledge of Embedded firmware design. They are likely to be a chartered engineer or equivalent with a solid Embedded systems or electronic engineering background, be able to demonstrate leadership skills, a good all round engineer and problem solver. The successful applicant will work closely with the Programme Manager as his technical lead and road-block remover.� About the Applicant: Essential Skills: Should have been involved with new products introduction, including engineering support in manufacturing & design and be able to coordinate and oversee prototype assembly. Experience designing and creating requirement specifications, test plans, and test protocols Experience with executing and documenting design verification and validation Able to provide inputs to project planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking and provide regular reporting of status and problems to the Programme Manager To ensure compliance with the appropriate legal, security, quality, safety and environmental procedures Experience and mastery of both system-level and detailed electronics design Hardware system and Embedded device debug skills Leadership skills in order to manage and motivate a small team of engineers Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Extensive experience as hardware development engineer/architect with demonstrated experience in Embedded systems. Strong background in translating customer needs to product requirements. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels of management.
