ROLE:
Our client is currently recruiting for a Production Process Engineer to join their Materials Team. They will develop or improve production processes to increase efficiency of the manufacturing operations. The role will work within a team to improve manufacturing processes, thereby increasing productivity and reducing costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Championing projects from initiation to production.
b) Set detailed specifications and implement production plans.
c) Conduct tests on systems for efficiency and repeatability until effective production process are implemented successfully.
d) Give support when required in production/manufacturing using in house and external resources. This may well be “hands on”.
e) Share scientific and technological skills with colleagues and train manufacturing personnel in new processes and procedures.
f) Design new processes to improve present production in order to boost productivity, quality and profitability.
g) Set standards for manufacture.
h) Help develop best practice in building a culture of team work across the production departments and the company.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Degree or Equivalent in a Science or Engineering subject.
b) Knowledge of either composite or elastomers/foam manufacturing methods.
c) General understanding of a range of modern material manufacturing processes and technologies.
d) Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
e) Microsoft to Intermediate.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Understanding of process flow and line balancing.

• To implement Drawing Change Notes as and when necessary to support the introduction of new products and the maintenance of existing products

• To compile and maintain Project Documentation files and records to the defined company standards
• To produce reports, papers, specifications, handbook drafts and other documentation as necessary to support the above activities

You will need:
• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Industrial Design
• Knowledge of plastics/sheet metal/castings type environment
• Creative & aesthetic design work as well functional mechanical solutions
• Experience of graphics and artwork generations
• Design life-cycle (concept to production) within an ISO 9001/9100 or similar quality environment
• High and Low volume design for Commercial and Leisure markets
