A Nuclear Civil and Structural Engineer is required by a large international engineering consultancy based in Glasgow. This opportunity has become available due to the company’s continual growth in expertise and because they are keen to develop the Glasgow office team. This particular consultancy’s core business consists of providing support to the Nuclear Power/Energy sector, the Ministry of Defence and other nuclear customers around the UK. Positions will be office based, although, there may be a requirement to work at customer sites/ other locations in Scotland.
The Nuclear Engineer will ideally be Chartered with a proven track record within Nuclear or a related field. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a sound practical knowledge of design, detailing and project management of nuclear projects. In addition, experience of detail design of nuclear structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, familiarisation of UK codes of practice, seismic analysis, involved general control of deliverables, budget control, design and detailing of both steelwork and reinforced concrete is also desirable. It is also important that, in addition to the technical aspects, the successful candidate must have demonstrable experience of client management, optioneering, tendering, feasibility studies and a strong commercial awareness. Relevant nuclear industry experience is vital, in particular experience carrying out work in support of British Energy/EDF Energy, the Ministry of Defence, Rolls Royce or BAE Submarine Systems

Key skills and experience should include:
