We are recruiting for a senior quality inspector to join a growing business in the Birmingham Area.
You will play a significant part in the quality function of an established and reputable component manufacturer. You will be checking the quality and the systems connected with machined components, overseeing a cellular manufacturing system and maintaining existing accreditation.
As a Senior Quality Inspector you should:
Have a good working knowledge of inspecting machined components.
Be familiar with first off reporting, for example FAIR or PPAP.
Be familiar with inspection of machined components.
Be able to demonstrate leadership qualities, and move towards running a team.
Be used to working to a set quality standard, ISO9001, SC21, AS9100 or TS16949.
As a senior quality Inspector you will be working closely with production and design departments to grow and maintain quality standards throughout the business.

OBJECTIVES

• To keep abreast of developments in relevant engineering fields to enable application to the role and to ensure a level of continuing professional development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
General
• Carry out discipline engineering in accordance with Company policies, practices and objectives so that it meets or exceeds the minimum technical requirements of the applicable project or Company procedures.
• Assist with the initiation, development and improvement of design guides, engineering procedures and standards.
• Ensure that relevant statutory regulations and legislation (such as CDM and HASAWA), which affect engineering, are complied with in all respects.
• Refer to the Project Manager or General Manager any unresolved technical matters arising that could impact the success of a project or that affect the Company’s compliance with statutory regulations and legislation.
Sales and Proposals
• Assist in proposals, sales and business development activities.
§ Determine the most cost effective engineering strategy to be adopted in proposals.
Planning and Budgeting
• Prepare realistic man-hour estimates for discipline engineering for proposals and projects.
Project Execution
• Maintain the highest level of quality and accuracy in all work undertaken or supervised.
• Undertake the role of Lead Discipline Engineer on any project. The duties and responsibilities of a Lead Discipline Engineer are described in Engineering Corporate Procedure ENG-OO-301.
• Undertake the role of Package Engineer on any project. The duties and responsibilities of a Package Engineer are described in Engineering Corporate Procedure ENG-OC-304
• Undertake the role of Project Engineer on any project. The duties and responsibilities of a Project Engineer are described in Corporate Procedure CC-B
• Complete all work assignments within the allocated man-hour budget and to the requirements of the programme.
• Monitor progress towards completion of all tasks and deliverables
• Consider design problems and determine the most cost effective solution.
• Investigate engineering errors determine the appropriate corrective action and report accordingly to the Project Engineer and General Manager
• Ensure that engineering complies with all applicable laws, regulations and other mandatory requirements.
EXPERIENCE
• Chartered Engineer (C.Eng,) or a European Engineer (EUR.ING.)
• Minimum of 5 years relevant discipline experience (see Specific Technical Experience below)
• Minimum 2 years experience with an engineering design contractor
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
• Experience in the process design of Fired Heaters (Crude, Vacuum, Reformers, Waste Heat Trains, etc) and / or
• Experience in the process design of Flares and Flare Ignition Systems and / or
• Experience in the process design of oil & gas/power generation skid packages
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Senior Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer - Birmingham - £23-24 p/hr - 3 Month contract
Our client is one of the Midlands most respected building services design consultants and due to numerous project wins are seeking to employ the services of an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services.
The role will involve working in a team to produce detailed heating, ventilation and air-conditioning detailed designs for a variety of projects including healthcare, commercial, residential or education.
You will be required to be formally trained with either a HND/HNC/Bsc in Mechanical or Building Services engineering, working knowledge of Hevacomp, and ability to use Autocad.
The opportunity
The workload is good at present and if all continues then the contract may be extended. This is a good opportunity to work for one the best practices and to gain experience on complex projects. The rate of pay is £23-24 p/hr.

One of our Clients are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their award winning Tunnelling and Earth Engineering team in Birmingham.
Description and Desired Qualifications
The successful candidate will work on the geotechnical aspects of multidisciplinary projects, contributing to the design of a variety of geotechnical structures. You will liaise with teams of varying complexity and size.
The principal function of this position is to undertake project work involving all elements of geotechnical design/construction issues, providing technical input within that field as part of a multi-disciplinary team, or working separately on particular aspects of geotechnical design/construction providing high quality advice. There would also be the need to support bids with technical and other input.
Candidates will have a strong background in geotechnical calculations and design work, preparation of technical specifications and reports and in the planning, supervision and interpretation of ground investigations. You will be a capable manager able to lead design teams, deliver commissions and mentor junior engineers
Qualifications required:
Candidates will have first degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology and a Masters in Geotechnical Engineering or Soil Mechanics. You will be a Chartered Engineer with the ICE.

The client is looking for a infrastructure design to undertake the detail design of roads, sewers, and associated infrastructure works for a varied client base, such as residential, industrial, commercial, health, and educational buildings. You will assist / undertake in the negotiation of Section 278, 38, 104 and 106 adoption and planning agreements on behalf of the clients with local authorities, Environment
Agency, Internal Drainage Boards and Water Authorities. Etc.
The client is looking for an experience candidate who will be able to lead a small infrastructure and or multi-disciplinary team, as required.
About You
An experience candidate with a Minimum of 10 to 15 years infrastructure design experience; including adoptable roads and drainage design.
Must have experience of design using PDS, WinDes, autotrack, TEDDS and AutoCAD design software. Also some experience with BIM systems would be beneficial. Design experience of private drainage to Document H and M of the Building Regulations.
Recent experience of rail related projects would be an advantage but not essential.
