My client, a world- leading Oil & Gas Operator are looking for a Lead Process Engineer to join their high calibre team in Aberdeen. You will report into the Process TA and have 2-3 process engineers reporting directly into you and will deputise for the Process TA as required. The successful candidate will provide Process Engineering support and modifications to their UK onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities.
In this role you will:
· Perform conceptual process studies for plant modifications related to process discipline or multi-discipline, with typical CAPEX £500k to £5mm
· Prepare scopes of work for process modifications, from investigation, definition of solutions through to handover to Engineering Service Contractor (ESC) for estimating & design.
· Monitor the modifications through the design process up until installation and commissioning
· Act as the Operation and technical representative during the whole design process
· Propose and justify modifications to equipment or to operating procedures to improve safety/efficiency/reliability of equipment. Ensure clear and concise scopes of work and procedures are produced, leading to improved safety/efficiency/reliability. Ensure all modifications meet statutory and Company standards. Participate in Mods Assessment process as appropriate
· Represent the Production Engineering team and provide technical support to HAZOPs and technical audits ensuring operational issues are properly considered
· Provide input to discipline budget
· Make regular visits to offshore installations (day visits)
· Conduct up to two site safety visits per year
· Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers.
Requirements:
- 15+ years Process Engineering experience in Oil & Gas sector (Operator experience preferable)
- Significant engineering experience in oil and gas process/production
- Extensive knowledge of onshore/offshore process and production systems
- Experience as a Lead
- Experience of working in an offshore environment
- Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering
- Chartered or equivalent

Fabrication knowledge would be preferred and it’s essential that you have demonstrable experience of working with design calculations. Applicants should have frame analysis experience (ideally using STRAP or STAAD) and should be familiar with Mathcad, AutoCAD and a 3D package (ideally Solidworks).

The Completions Engineer will report to the Completions Engineering Team Leader, optimising the planning and implementation of the cased hole subsurface work program, to maximise value, taking into account life cycle time, productivity and cost of work activities.
The successful candidate will bring forward technology to improve productivity and improve value of the work outcome, working collaboratively with other Petroleum Engineers and Superintendents, Team Leaders, Exploitation and Production Optimisation Engineers, and Drilling Engineers to ensure consistency and integration of work practices and improvement strategies across all operations facilities. Optimisation of cycle time to bring wells on line, maximising productivity of wellbores through optimal wellbore construction in order to achieve or exceed targets will be required.
Qualifications / Experience:
Engineering Degree
Minimum 10 years significant experience in sub surface engineering and operations disciplines
Proven background across drilling, completions, stimulation, production and reservoir programs
Surface operations experience would be an advantage
With effective communication and organisational skills, a commitment to safety and a focus on continuous improvement, you will develop personnel, both technically and professionally, and mentor new graduates. Have the ability to actively develop good working relationships with exploration and development teams, suppliers and contractors, undertaking contractor management and the cost control of work programs.
