CAD Draughtsman required – Solidworks – Aberdeen – Long term contract 12 months+ - Good rate



Based in Aberdeen my client requires a CAD Draughtsman with a strong Solidworks understanding to join the design team on an exciting new project.



Essential Skills:

At least 3 years Solidworks experience



Bonus skills:

Immediate availability

Rate is negotiable upon experience and suitability.



Contract length is ongoing, initially lasting for 12months with plenty of room for overtime. Longevity can be assured with this vacancy.

This long-established, ambitious company is a market leader with a strong reputation. Their engineering is innovative and accomplished – focusing on fabrication and structural and mechanical engineering. They are currently looking for a practical, outgoing design draughtsperson to join the team.

The successful candidate will be happiest when working in a team environment where they are able to assist others and contribute to positive outcomes for the their department. They will ideally be qualified to HND level (or similar) in an engineering discipline and have considerable experience in a similar role in a design environment. Experience of AutoCAD / Solidworks (or similar) will be required as will a professional attitude, good computer skills and team mentality. Some calc knowledge and ability is required - or as a minimum an interest in developing in this. You will also require familiarity with British and / or international design codes. A background in structural steel, automotive, telecoms construction or Oil and Gas would be of particular interest.

Day to day activities will involve the production and modification of engineering documents (2D and 3D CAD drawings, technical illustrations, manuals etc) – often to deadlines. Additionally, survey work and production of as built surveys will be required. An enthusiastic attitude is essential – as are first class interpersonal skills and a strong desire to succeed.
