Rok announces new construction jobs after securing airport contract - 13-10-2008 - 10:41
Rok announces new construction jobs after securing airport contract Building development firm Rok has announced the creation of new construction jobs after it secured building and refurbishment contracts at major UK airports.

The company has been appointed by airport owners BAA to begin a number of projects ranging from £2 million to £20 million in value.

The new contract, which falls under BAA's Commodity Build Framework, will allow the construction firm to oversee building work at Heathrow, Stansted, Edinburgh and Glasgow airports.

Commenting on the new contract, Rok chief executive Garvis Snook told Building.co.uk: "BAA quite rightly sets extremely high standards for its suppliers and we are pleased that we are able to meet and often exceed these.

"It is great news for all of us that our work has been extended by this new framework."

The appointment of Rok comes after the government's decision last week to give the green light to the redevelopment of Stansted, as the airport looks to increase passenger capacity from 25 million to 35 million.
