DISTRIBUTION MANAGER

As Distribution Manager you will be expected to manage the supply chain between central and local warehouses, by forecasting the market needs of the business unit in cooperation with the sales and marketing organisations and to ensure that this market demand is fulfilled.
You will be required to ensure high service level availability of goods at optimal inventory levels, to cover all products of the business for several sales regions, to make decisions about replenishment strategies, to monitor replenishments and, in the case of exceptions, initiate activities to ensure availability on time and to plan product launches, manage phase out of discontinued products, and manage current promotions demands.
You will also be involved in controlling stock reservation (SAP contracts), maintenance of systems parameters, maintaining master data management, managing over stocks and distribution bottleneck management and to act as the contact with specific plant.
To fulfill the role of Distribution Manager, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent, or hold relevant logistics experience, as well as being IT literate and have a numeric aptitude. Ideally you will be experienced in sales and/or different logistic areas with customer orientation.
You should be an excellent communicator and a good team leader, able to demonstrate initiative and work independently with an entrepreneurial mind set and have a methodical, flexible and adaptable approach to work.

As a Buyer you will be expected to manage the purchasing interface for a portfolio of projects that support, and facilitate the current and future goals of the business unit. With the emphasis on continued reduction in the time to market, you will use your skills and market knowledge to ensure the continued competitiveness of the business whilst abiding with their core values. You will also be expected to coach other members of the purchasing team, providing a high level of professionalism, as well as promoting the function both at a local level and within the Power Tool division.
Your role will be to contribute to determining company policy, strategy, goals and critical success factors within the vendor base and to work closely with other company members to facilitate improvements in the business model. You will develop partnerships sourcing via a reduced number of suppliers, to minimise the Company’s spend on materials, services and components, conducive with maintaining adequate quality standards and delivery performance. You will also actively participate in new product development teams to influence the design in the use of materials and which will give lowest cost, best quality within shortest time.
To succeed as a Buyer, you will be educated to a high level of education, including Maths and English and ideally possess a degree in a relevant subject or MCIPS by examination. Knowledge of German language would also be beneficial. You will have some purchasing experience, ideally with previous managerial work, or experience of high volume manufacturing. You will have good I.T. skills and possess excellent negotiation and communication skills. You will be a flexible, resilient, dedicated and decisive team player who is able to focus on attention to detail.
