We are seeking a Commercial Contract & Systems Manager who will be a key member of the Commercial management team; Managing & Controlling the key operational commercial systems and Quality Management Systems. You will also have special responsibility for ensuring compliance with Group Policy, and Senior Management directives to minimise Risk and Contractual exposure to the Corus Group. The Commercial Department has three legs – Sales, Bid Proposals, and Marketing. The Commercial Contract & Systems Manager will provide “high level” Commercial control and support to the Sales and Bid Proposals teams, with particular reference to Legal, Financial, and Commercial issues
As Commercial Contract & Systems Manager you will manage & control the key Business commercial systems and Quality Management Systems. with respect to Contractual Terms & Conditions, Contractual / Joint Venture Agreements and Financial pre-requisites; to minimize contractual risk.
You will lead and evaluate Commercial activities on major opportunities, providing expertise on pre and post contract negotiations - Contractual Terms & conditions, Legal and Financial considerations, contract disputes /variations, and final close out, as well as monitoring, controlling and advising on enquiries received and projects secured & be the commercial interface between the CNES /CPE operational units ensuring that all issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
This job is very challenging; it is of the utmost importance to manage/ reduce the ongoing risk and exposure to the business in terms of Contractual, Legal & Financial matters, and it will be a major challenge to educate colleagues to bring about improved selection of projects to improve profitability and order success rates. GENERAL SALES MANAGER

We are seeking a Sales Manager who will be a key member of the Senior Commercial Management Team controlling and developing short and long term future strategy. The Commercial department has three legs- Sales, Bids proposals and Marketing. The General Sales manager will be responsible for the sales team.
You will develop, manage and grow revenue streams in line with the business for both the Workshops and P&T departments, as well as securing internal / external work into the business through utilising personnel skills and those of your team. You will be responsible for ensuring sales targets are met and a ROS is per financial criteria, as well as assisting and directing the customer into developing a technical scope that will utilise the skills and services of the business.
Your principal accountabilities will include managing, controlling and developing a team which is capable of delivering the pre contract commercial activities of the business in the industries and markets outlined in the business plan, ensuring your team obtain and process, suitable ITTs from these industries and ensuring that all ITTs are reviewed (Pre –Post) to ensure the best technical solutions have / were offered to the customer.
The Sales Manager will also be required to continue to develop the customer base both in the UK and overseas that can utilise the services that the business offers. In particular, markets such Steel and Nuclear, Cement, need dedicated focus and exploited. In your work you should promote a high level of technical ability and offer integrated technical solutions that enables a structured sales strategy and rolling forecast to be identified for these industries.
To succeed as Sales Manager you should be qualified to degree level or equivalent, ideally in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA would be desirable, but is not essential.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

An opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join the Commercial Department (Sales, Bids and Marketing) of Europe’s second largest steel producer. The purpose of this role is to explore the internal and external market place to identify and develop value added business opportunities which can be used to promote the capabilities and viability of the business units, in order to secure revenue streams from existing and new customers
This role is a key position within the sales team as you will interface closely with the General sales team and will be responsible for submitting Bids / proposals to the customer as well as negotiating and securing orders. You will have overall responsibility for securing work from a steel-related market, in particular caster development. However, knowledge of other external markets (Nuclear, Defence, Cement etc) is essential.
Your main aims will be to understand the business offerings then develop, manage and grow, revenue streams in line with the business (his will probably be very much steel related), as well as to secure contracts from an existing customer base that has been established for circa 20years
You should be qualified to at least HNC level, ideally degree level in Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA would be desirable, although is not essential. It is likely you may have come through the technical apprenticeship route and will have some experience in a similar Business Development role.
A team player with a commercial and technical background, you will have sound knowledge of heavy engineering coupled with some Steel sector knowledge (casters). You should also have a proven track record of achieving goals. As Business Development Manager, you should have considerable experience of preparing tenders, and of estimating practices and experience and knowledge of the business units they represent.
