'Solidworks' Design Engineer - 6 month contract.

My client specialise in the supply of cleaning products and systems to the laundry, food, brewing & agricultural markets. They design, manufacture and supply a range of innovative chemical dispensing systems. Due to increased workload and several new projects they are looking to recruit a design engineer on a long term contract basis.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Design & development of plastic mouldings using 'Solidworks'.
- rapid design & development on new products
- support the control, modification and distribution of existing design drawings
- help maintain a high standard of innovative engineering and equipment designed by the department
- to provide electronic drawings for desk top publishing
- technical documentation (purchase specifications, instruction sheets & test specifications).
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualifications: the ideal candidate will have been educated to degree standard or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design with Plastics experience.
Experience: the successful candidate is likely to have at least 2-3 years recent experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Plastic component and assembly design
- Consumer goods design
- Design of equipment such as or including small pumps, valves or pipework systems e.g. vending machines
It is imperative that the successful candidate has 3D CAD experience and is proficient in the use of 'Solidworks'. The appointee should also have a clean driving licence as some travel within the UK may be involved to visit other sites, suppliers and customers.
Hours of work: 8:45-17:00 Monday to Thursday and 8:45-15:30 Friday with 45 minutes lunch-break each day (36.25 hours per week)
