We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager and Project Controller, who is capable of pro-actively organising and maintaining all aspects associated with a large non-turnkey engineering project, including all associated interfaces to other projects.

You will be responsible for chairing meetings with contractors/client and in progressing all issues in a gentle but forceful manner, as well as providing professional direction and training in best-practise project management/control procedures/methods to the client staff.

As Resident Project Manager, you need to be proactive and capable of analysing interfaces and schedules from a multitude of different projects, summarising the actual situation and reporting findings to the client for resolution,

Ideally you should have an understanding of power networks but its more critical for you to have very good project management and project control skills plus the ability to actively involve the client staff.

Resident Substation Engineers - Transmission Pro - Libya

Reporting to the Project Director – UK & the Resident Project Manager - Site, we are seeking two Resident Substation Engineers to supervise as Owner’s Engineer representative for the site activities of the Substations contractor.

You will work with the Contractors site management, co-ordinating with other site substation civil engineers to supervise the site activities of contractors ensuring installation is according to good International practice and according to the contract specification, as well as monitoring the contract programme to ensure good progress is maintained.

As Resident Substation Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring contractor complies with good Health and Safety practices on the site, chairing weekly site meetings and producing minutes, providing site reports to the Resident Project Manager – Site and home office and monitoring arrival on site of contract equipment and materials as well as signing off reports of work completion for payment purposes and liaising with client’s engineers and staff as required.

To succeed as Resident Substation Engineer you should have extensive experience in a site supervision position involving transmission lines with at least some experience with 400kV. A degree level or HND qualification is preferred, although experience in lieu will also be considered. It is essential you have the ability to manage contractors’ on site activities in an Owner’s Engineer position.
