3 shifts: 6-2, 2-10, 10-6, required to work 1 weekend in 3

Multi-skilled maintenance technician required for reputable manufacturer of food products. Working on high-speed food process and packaging lines, dealing with breakdowns as well as ensuring planned maintenance tasks are carried out at the correct frequency. Ensuring maintenance is carried out punctually and all works are documented accordingly using the PM database.

As well as dealing with the day-to-day maintenance activities, you will be involved in continuous improvement initiatives from concept to completion. This will involve machinery upgrades and improvements across the site.

As part of the maintenance team working over 3 shifts, you will liaise closely with colleagues within and across shift regarding engineering matters; help develop the team engineering skills and help to co-ordinate and conduct engineering training.

QUALIFICATIONS
A professional engineering qualification will be required for this role to at least City & Guilds level, NVQ level 3 or equivalent in an electrical / mechanical maintenance discipline. Any experience of hydraulics or PLCs will be advantageous, as will be the ability to clearly understand engineering drawings, symbols and notation.

Food hygiene awareness
Use of computerised engineering maintenance systems
Practical engineering experience
Any previous experience of continuous improvement projects would also be advantageous
