Configuration Manager - Blackburn

Our client is a highly successful designer and manufacturer of military electronic communications systems.

Our client are based in Blackburn Lancashire and exports its products to customers worldwide.
The company is experiencing high growth in its business activities and is seeking a Configuration Control Manager who has experience of working in a hi-technology electronics industry.

Deliverables
• To ensure that a consistent and effective approach to Configuration Management (CM) is applied across all products.
• To generate CM Plans where required by contract.
• To contribute to the Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) where appropriate.
• To ensure that design build standards are available, complete, unambiguous and maintained, for products under formal control.
• To ensure that changes to Configuration Items are carried out in a controlled manner, with changes being reviewed and approved before incorporation.
• To instigate, minute and direct the business of Configuration Control Boards, and ensure that follow-up action is taken.
• To assess and authorise Task Requests. Review Task Request progress. Incorporate the outcome of Tasks into affected CILs.
• To oversee the flow of accepted design changes into SAP so that the production database remains aligned with the accepted design build standard.

CM system development:

• To ensure that the company CM systems comply with the requirements of ISO10007, and other CM systems if specified by contract – e.g. Def Stan 05-57.
• To develop and introduce simplified CM control within company electronic systems.

Electronics Technician - Blackburn

Our client is a highly successful designer and manufacturer of military electronic communication systems.

They are based in Blackburn and exports its products to customers worldwide.
The company is experiencing high growth in its business activities and is seeking an Electronics Technician to work with our engineering team who has demonstrable industrial experience (preferably more than two years) of working in a hi-technology electronics industry.

The role will include:-
• Assembly, modification and rework of development hardware.
• Assist with the assembly of specialist low volume products.
• Prototype construction including using SMT components
• Fabrication of Test Jigs.
• Responsible for the daily up keep of the development laboratory including asset control, equipment loans, equipment servicing etc
• Maintaining development component stores

We would like the candidate to have:-
• Knowledge of manual assembly and rework of SMT PCB assemblies with BGA and 0402 content
• Assembly of prototype product into caseworks
• Modification and assembly of wring, cables, connectors.
• Test rig design and build experience
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)
• Generation of basic assembly documentation
• Self motivated, ability to work unsupervised with Problem solving skills
• A good basic knowledge of Electronics together with hands-on electronic laboratory skills

THE COMPANY

THE ROLE

Reporting to the sales manager, the technical sales support representative will be based from the office in the north west. You will be the first point of contact for all customer enquiries, and expected to understand their measurement needs, suggest potential products and then forward the enquiry to the field sales team. You will also be required to use your technical aptitude to work with the customer and demonstrate the application of the measurement sensors.
