Mobile Field Engineer - All of UK

Mobile Field Engineer required by this leading defence organisation to carry out the installation/commissioning, repair and/or maintenance to 1st, 2nd and 3rd line level of Land based radar and associated equipment worldwide. MOD security clearance criteria applies to this postion.

Key responsibility areas:
To carry out the installation/commissioning, repair and/or maintenance to 1st, 2nd and 3rd line level of Land based radar and associated equipment worldwide. Equipment to be worked on would be AR327 (known as T101 to RAF), Watchman, S511 and Rapier.

Specific equipment/knowledge of the Company's products would be an advantage ie AR327 (known as T101 to RAF), Watchman, S511 and Rapier. Formal academic training and qualifications to ONC/HTEC or HM forces equivalent. Proven experience of radar systems, including Installation and Commissioning and deploying tactical Radar Systems in the UK and overseas

The Field Engineer will need knowledge of MS Office and SAP. Experience in liaising with customer personnel and Company personnel, including Project management, Development/Engineering, Design Authority, Senior QA personnel. Key Tasks
To reduce the stock-holding and increase inventory turns to maximise cash, of that commodity, whilst maintaining service levels. To ensure that that area of spend generates year on year material cost savings (measured by PPV - Purchase Price Variance). Reduce or eliminate all non-value adding activity where possible (through use of kanban, effective stock management, e-commerce, lean processes, etc). Implement standardisation, rationalisation and value engineering projects, working closely with Production Engineering and Design teams, where appropriate. Ensure supplier relationships are effectively managed, with regular business reviews with all key and critical suppliers to ensure continual improvements. Negotiate commercial terms and have in place partnership or supply agreements with those key and critical suppliers.
