Senior Commercial Officer - my client are a Defence Consultancy business who are seeking an experienced and successful individual to work as a Senior Commercial Officer, who is keen to take on and master new challenges, and thus further progress his/her career. Reporting to the Commercial Manager (First Line Manager) who is responsible to the Head of Commercial (the Second Line Manager).
This role is commutable from Reading, Slough, Maidenhead and High Wycombe.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Commercial Manager, work in support of Business and Project Managers, providing commercial advice and support to all business and management streams.
Prime focus for supplier contracts, sub-contracts, orders, purchase orders and confidentiality agreements ensuring that commercial papers are processed effectively and in a timely manner.
Tasks
Working in a busy office, you will have a strong understanding of commercial practice and have the ability to provide comprehensive commercial advice in a proactive and timely manner. You will be involved in the review, drafting and negotiation of a variety of contracts, sub-contracts, purchase orders, documents, agreements, proposals, tenders, terms and conditions. Working to the Commercial Manager, you will be managing activities and change to ensure effective implementation of Company principles, policy and procedures which relate to commercial practice and processes and will become a valuable source of commercial expertise and advice. Ensure Quality Management Procedures are adhered and seek to improve wherever possible.
Skills
Ideally of Graduate calibre and CIPS qualified or equivalent, you should have a good commercial background and experience, preferably including IPR, insurance requirements, Export and Import controls. Experience within the UK Defence sector is particularly relevant.
