Test Operator - Beds

Test Operator required by this leading defence organisation based in Bedfordshire to carry out testing functions on production equipment .

Key responsibility areas:
Test hardware on time in response to the works orders from the planning engineers.
Testing and diagnostics to test specifications down to component level. Carry out simple local rectification where required. Liaise with engineering for diagnostics.

The Test Operator must have a strong bias with an electronic background with a mechanical aptitude. You will need an understanding of quality control procedures. You will have experience of working in clean room environments. An HNC or ONC in electronics would be preferred although relevant experience is acceptable. You must have experience of spectrum analysers. You must also be computer literate. Knowledge of diagnostics down to component level would be advantageous as would being conversant in the operations of nitrogen chambers.

You must be flexible and willing to change shift patterns with an agreed consultation period of 30 days. The role will be working in a team of 20, as part of a smaller shift team of c8 working varying shift patterns:- either 6-2, 2-10 rotating weekly or 4 on 4 off shift pattern, known in advance. A premium is paid for shift patterns.

System Designer - exciting opportunity to join this leader in the Defence industry. To control the transfer of the current company Intranet, written in html format, into a Sharepoint Environment.
This role will involve:
Examining the current Intranet, recommending the best re-development method and performing
this re-development.
Discussing requirements with current site owners and other stakeholders, both within Computer
Services and other areas of the company
Explaining and demonstrating to site owners how to update and control their new sites.


Depending on time constraints the role may also involve:
Interaction and advice on existing systems within computer services
Help with general maintenance and advise to users on Intranet and related activities.


Essential Experience
The successful candidate must have:
Have experience of using MS Sharepoint Designer within an overall Sharepoint Document Management Environment. Good communication skills and be a team player. Capable of organising their own time effectively and working independantly when required. Must have some .net programming experience.


Desirable Experience
Would be preferable to have some general all-round knowledge of Microsoft Office products.


Special Requirement
