Programme Manager - join this leading Defence organisation where you will be responsible for technical Lead activities for the development of Future Missile Solution products.
This role is commutable from Bristol, Bath, Newport and Swindon.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
First report to the Chief Systems Engineer on one or more programmes providing technical lead, technical input and some aspects of Programme Management of the projects post-contract award and support to the tendering activities before this. Day-to-day people management for a distributed team initially leading to the aspiration for the development of a full-time team. Plan, control and deliver assigned projects or work packages, and make an input as required to cross-functional projects/investigations, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan. Carry out a full range of technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability. Prepare a full range of bid documentation, specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained. Carry out investigations into a full range of problems, issues or developments and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a project team.
Ideal - Carry out team Planning, Risk management and Quality activities in assigned areas in line with all requirements and processes. Provide effective support to customers in assigned areas, delivering solutions to meet the customer's needs and requirements plus the programme plan. Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development.

Electromagnetic Modeller/Modelling
Required by this leading Defence organisation to undertake research and acquire technology of interest in the field of Electromagnetic Modelling.
The role will be based in Avon and is commutable from Bristol, Stroud, Chippenham and Chepstow.
Key responsibility areas:
The Research Scientist will be responsible for researching and writing new algorithms and routines for our in-house Electromagnetic Modelling codes (understanding requirements, translating these into numerical possibilities and developing, demonstrating and delivering the final software product). You would also be expected to apply both in-house and COTS codes to a range of Electromagnetic problems (RCS, EMC, EMH, RADHAZ, FSS, installed antennas, low-frequency applications).
The successful candidate would be expected to undertake research and the development of EM modelling software in Fortran, C and/or C++. Programming skills are ESSENTIAL - where required training in a particular language will be provided. Software Engineering skills would be an advantage. He/she must have an understanding of Electromagnetics and possess strong Mathematical and numerical skills. A good degree (preferably higher degree) in Maths, Engineering or a Physical Science would be essential.
Strong communications and interpersonal skills will be required in order to interact with and influence a range of customers and to help win new business.
The successful candidate will be capable of working alone or as a member of a team.
