Due to new projects, they have a current requirement to recruit for a Reservoir Inspecting Engineer to work based in Hertfordshire, and travelling to sites as required.
The Role:
You will be a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer, of Chartered Civil Engineer status, and with a strong background in Condition Assessment of Civil Structures including Reservoirs, Water Towers and Contact Tanks, and also of Water Distribution Systems.
Your role will be to Inspect Water Authority Civil Structures, and produce maintenance reports, statement of needs, project reports, project scope and project definition documents for Civil Maintenance and Remedial works.
You will be using your experience to recommend amendments to maintenance and inspection frequencies of civil structures, and to recommend necessary expenditure to repair and restore Civil Structures, and will also be involved in overseeing remedial works and controlling contractors on site.

The Role - Site Manager:
The successful Site manager will be reporting directly to the Project Manager. As Site Manager you will have experience of projects with values typically in the £250K to £3M bracket. The majority of projects involve refurbishment and fit-out however, some experience of new build construction would be beneficial. The Role
As Project Manager you will take responsibility for two projects at any one time, from design stage through to the completion of snagging. Initially you will take one project through the preliminary design stage where the fittings for the projects are designed and manufactured. This will be done in conjunction with the main contractor on site. Once this project goes to site you will begin the design process of the second project.
The Project Manager will be charged with securing all sub contractors from a pre determined list as well as procuring all commercial resource internally i.e. Estimators, Buyers.
As Project Manager you will also take responsibility for the finances and become more responsible for the overall margin. You will also be expected to deliver regular status reports.
The Person
The Project Manager will exude confidence and remain calm under pressure. Ideally you will have a strong Project Management background with extensive experience of working in a construction environment as a Project Manager.
You will be methodical, process driven, strong at planning and with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Role Description:
A Site Engineer is required to work on Heathrow Airport on their major projects team on various heavy civil engineering projects. The Site Engineer role most involves Setting out, Levelling, using Total station and working along side sub contractors. Starting off as a junior site engineer you need to show the ability to learn quickly to progress up to Site Engineer, Senior Site Engineer and beyond. Projects vary in size from 10million to 500million lasting any where from 4 months to 3 years.
Typical projects on site include:-
" New Buildings
" Building upgrades / Refurbishments
" Runway / Taxi way upgrades
" Highway replacement + New systems
" Piling and Foundations
Required experience:
Civil qualification required, be it ONC, HND, HNC or Degree qualified, this is in conjunction with good experience on one of the above disciplines. of all aspects of site engineering. Minimum of 6 months experience is needed in a Setting out role.
Benefits Package:
22k - 25k Basic + overtime paid after 40hrs with normal site hours around 50hrs a week most engineers take home around 30k - 32k. Plus you get company car or car allowance, fuel card, pension, health care, set training plan and development is in place to give you targets to achieve progression and gain charted status.

The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for reading designs, setting out, diary management and the completion of health and safety documentation. This role is designed to develop and progress the Civil Site Engineer to a managerial level, so coordination of sub contractors and the workforce will be a key aspect. Woking closely with the Site Manager, the Civil Site Engineer will be given small works sections to manage, to enable development.

The Role
As Project Manager you will be the lead person for the project with involvement from concept to completion.
The Project Manager will be involved in pre construction, post contract works, management of the design and procurement and completion of the snagging.
The Project Manager will also be responsible for the programming, planning and managing the health and safety on site.
There will be a full team on site with support from a visiting planner. The Project Manager is answerable to the Contracts Manager but the day to day running of the site, including application of KPI's, is the Project Manager responsibility.
The Person
The Project Manager will be enthusiastic, motivated, pro active and have a keen work ethic. Our client buy into the individuals character and positive attributes as much as their industry experience so an understanding of what it takes to complete the project successfully, efficiently, on time and within budget and to a high quality.
As well as the right characteristics, the Project Manager will have excellent technical skills. Industry accreditations such as CSCS, SMSTS and 4 day First Aid are also preferred.
The Project Manager will also have good IT skills and the ability to undertake planning and programming.
A good track record with at least 3 years at a recent employer is desirable.
