With management responsibility for a team of skilled production engineers, you will implement measurement and work study systems and actively monitor and address process efficiency through relevant monitoring methods.
This role will require you to supervise Production Engineering and Production Industrialisation, driving culture change and continuous improvement in order to maintain and develop the facility in a safe manner, as well as driving the improvement of manufacturing methods, by using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Your role will be to support maintenance and outage strategy development, contribute to business cases for capital investment and new ventures and support development activities including participation in risk reviews. You will support the preparation and implementation of maintenance, projects and outage works, which includes developing technical specifications, product & work breakdown structures and routine and predictive maintenance to ensure the integrity, safety and efficient operation of the portfolio.
HNC qualified or with an equivalent technical qualification you will possess sound knowledge of maintenance principles with relevant experience ideally gained in a large industrial environment. You will be competent in the application of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements and the preparation of specifications and management of contracts. Strong communication skills along with the ability to relate to a wide cross-section of people are essential.

Mechanical Engineer - 12 month contract - £28 per hour

What the role will involve:
1. Taking customer specifications from the client and;
2. Designing the plant
3. Stress and mechanical calculations for the plant
4. HAZOP's and risk assessments for all areas of the plant
5. Writing functional design specifications for sub-contract manufacturing companies.
6. Working with and directing CAD Draughtsmen to ensure drawings are completed on time and to the required standard.
7. Managing the design and manufacturing process.
What the company are looking for in the contractor:
1. Experience in specifying materials and products including valves, pressure vessels, conveyors, piping and other associated process plant equipment.
2. Experience in design and risk assessments for process plant.
3. Good communication skills - need to communicate to design and manufacturing companies what they expect.
