The company are a market leader in the production of quarried materials for the construction and highways industries. As part of their continued expansion in the South West, they require an additional Controls Engineer to help cope with an ever increasing workload.

The Role

The role is a combination of maintenance support and project and improvement work for control systems on quarrying sites throughout the South. A wide ranging and varied role, project work involves taking full responsibility for improvement, designing and programming the PLC or SCADA systems. You will organise and oversee contractors, having getting hands on involvement in the installation and commissioning of each system.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be at a minimum of intermediate level in the programming of PLC and SCADA systems and familiar with at least Visual Basic programming language. You will thrive on the independence and autonomy associated with the role and motivated by the achievement of seeing a project through to completion.

Maintenance Engineer - Frome, Somerset

Maintenance Engineer involved in electro-mechanical maintenance on high speed production machinery within the facility. Full training and development in company and manufacturing systems with starting salary up to £30,000

Salary & Location: £28,000 - £30,000, overtime and pension. Frome, Trowbridge, Westbury, Bath, Warminster, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Bridgwater, Radstock, Wincanton

The Role: Within the remit of the role you will be undertaking electrically biased maintenance on state of the art production lines. The role is split between planned and reactive maintenance within the facility, and all engineers will be actively involved in helping set up PPM's weekly and installation work on a project basis. Although the role is electrically biased, this is a multi-skilled position and as such there is also mechanical maintenance to be undertaken. The whole site is highly automated and any candidates with experience fault finding on PLC's would be ideal. As a skilled and meticulous maintenance engineer you will be well organised and capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Electrical and Mechanical Design Engineer - Somerset

The Company:
Specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke semi conductor processing machines they are market leaders in their field. The Skills Required:
Successful candidates will either have experience in electrical or mechanical design and have used a 3D design package. Experience using Solidworks or of programming PLCs will be looked upon favourably, although all candidates with relevant experience will be considered for the position. This role would ideally be suited to candidates looking to technically progress and develop into the senior technical person in the design department.

The Role:
Within the remit of the role you will work on both redesigning older systems as well as conceptual design. As a skilled and conscientious engineer you will liaise with customers regarding their requirements, assess the correct componentary for each machine and design the complete systems by analyzing how these various parts will fit together. As you develop as an engineer you will take on more responsibility and will oversee the build of each machine in the workshop.
