Diesel Controller - Power Systems - Peterborough - Peterborough

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for self-motivated team players to join this successful company who are a major provider of turnkey solutions for CHP and renewable energy applications.

A Diesel Controller is now required to act as a point of contact for all customers for service requirements on Investor Diesel product using every opportunity to sell the resources of the department (through 24 hour monitoring, maintenance contracts, load bank testing, black start tests etc.). As Diesel Controller you will be required to open work orders in DBS and close them either to contract, Customer or warranty. You will also be required to settle any invoice disputes by liaising with the Service Manager and the Customer. You will be expected to schedule diesel contract maintenance services, update the diesel engine database and liaise with Field Engineers on engine scheduling. You will also be expected to take calls from Customers requesting diesel service and schedule Customer visits with Field Engineers. You will Communicate with Customers on the progress of work, discuss additional work required, agree costs and timetables and liaise closely with the Diesel Team Leader on any issues arising from the field. Using Cat and OEM tools, you will be required to correctly identify parts required for maintenance and breakdowns across the engine range. You will also be required to procure any non-Cat items needed by raising requisitions on SAP purchasing system.

You must have DBS / DCS skills and a working knowledge of MS Office. You must also have good verbal communication skills, especially on the telephone. You must have good, clear, administrative skills and a working knowledge of Cat and SAP Systems. Your product knowledge must be sufficient for you to be able to discuss technical information on engine mechanical, electrical and electronic systems with service engineers & customers.

The Role

Successful candidates will possess a mechanical background with an understanding of CAD, commercial acumen, relationship building skills and experience of project management.
Candidates must be flexible as they could be away for up to 7 weeks at a time.
