As an experienced Senior Power Electronics Engineer your role will be to support the development and commercialisation of hybrid-electric propulsion systems. You will be responsible for the specification, development, validation, and implementation of high voltage Power/Control Electronics used within HEV and EV automotive applications. Your knowledge should encompass 5-75kW Traction Motor Electronics, Generators and DC/DC Converters.
Successful candidates will be educated to degree level in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and have significant experience in Power Electronics and Software Design. You will require an extensive knowledge of power electronics, power conversion (DC/AC, DC/DC), high Voltage Power Supply design and Inverter/Converter topologies. Experience with PCB layout and fabrication using external PCB houses and prototyping facilities is also required. In this role you will perform 1D and 3D fluids analysis of Powertrain and vehicle systems including cooling, oil, in cylinder flow as well as HVAC, underbonnet flows and aerodynamics. The analyst will make use of classical calculations, practical test, and predictive computer software to generate models and analyse using proprietary software.
As Fluids Design Analyst your responsibilities will include performing fluids analysis tasks required within Powertrain CAE and assisting other staff as necessary. You will improve procedural processes and analytical techniques in order to grow the capability of Powertrain CAE. You will help to improve communication and reporting skills to show clear potential for a future supervisory management role, as well as carry out general administration tasks as required.

You will maintain development logs, issue reports on development work undertaken, and provide input to status reports. Project Engineer - Oil & Gas Industry
Our client is an international provider of facility solutions to the oil & gas production and processing industries with a diverse client portfolio including many of the worlds leading integrated, independent and national oil and gas companies.
Due to the winning of new projects, they currently have a need for an experienced Project Engineer to work in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. This will initially be for a 6 month contract basis although could extend beyond that.
The ideal candidate will come from an oil and gas or petro-chemical background and be able to hit the ground running. They will possess a HND in either mechanical / civil / electrical engineering or equivalent. They should also have extensive experience in engineering, construction and project management within the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Industry, along with good interpersonal and communication skills. The main focus of the role will be to formulate and develop project engineering designs into functional scopes of work for new and existing assets for the company.
You should have good experience of Project Engineering or Project Management within Engineering and / or Construction for the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industries, and should have proven ability in cost control, scopes of work, reviewing bids and proposals. This is a fairly expansive role requiring a highly competent and professional Project Engineer with strong industry experience.
The rates for this role will be decided on an individual basis and could range from anything between £25 - £40 per hour depending on skills, knowledge and experience of the successful candidate.
