Activities may encompass the entire development life cycle and will range from requirements capture, implementation and integration of requirements to testing and maintenance of the Mission system. The role will be continuously interfacing with the customer on multiple levels and will be expected to respond to technical queries from both customer and ‘home team’ communities.

We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer who will promote the Workshops in order to obtain suitable enquiries, administer and evaluate these enquiries to produce tenders and on receipt of orders administer and control the contractual and financial elements.
As Technical Sales Engineer, you will provide the key link between the client and departmental personnel covering the pre and post tender negotiations, tender submission and all commercial and financial aspects of orders assisted by the estimating and surveying staff.
Specific responsibilities will include obtaining and assessing enquiries from internal and external sources suitable for the Workshops, correctly interpreting tender documents and technical specification for all tenders, as well as planning and supervising all activities leading to completion of tenders, assessing value of enquiries by measurement of material requirements and workmanship content and representing the Company in discussions with clients both internal and external to negotiate contracts, potential contracts and settlement of claims, establishing ongoing relationships with customers staff at all levels.
You will be required to maintain accurate records of enquiries, prices submitted and orders and ensure contract documentation is received and issued in accordance with Quality Assurance Procedures, as well as investigating results of both current and completed contracts to determine cause and effect when departures from estimate occur and recommend action to avoid recurrence.
The Technical Sales Engineer should keep the Departmental Management informed of the up-to-date financial position of Contracts and should also advise workshop management of potential gaps or weaknesses in the service portfolio, and recommend remedial action i.e. through skills training or capital investment.

We are seeking a Welding Engineer, to be based in Scunthorpe and to provide welding engineering technical expertise as required to maintain and improve the product quality and cost base of Structural Workshops, as well as minimizing the risk of non-conforming product entering the market place and when necessary, providing a welding engineering service to other parts of the company.
You will spend the first 6 months under the guidance of a current welding engineer to understand systems & in house demands, before taking more responsibility for the provision of welding procedures for fabrication workshops & welding work carried out for internal & external customers, supporting the business in development of standards, update of welder quals & welding procedures.
You will play a key role in maintaining credibility as fabricator, retaining QA accreditation & underwriting welding activities and will have the ability to influence the long term welding capability of a major fabricator, liaising with customers and improving current welding technology.
The Welding Engineer will Monitor the fabrication quality, inspection and welding processes to ensure compliance with agreed standards and cost assumptions, will investigate and resolve fabrication quality issues and will design and qualify welding procedures to meet product and client requirements.
You will also take responsibility for the investigation of complaints relating to fabrication and welding engineering issues and recommending appropriate corrective action and will be required to expedite plant trials, manage relevant Business and Technical QA databases and advising production management on QA issues and will conduct Quality Assurance audits in support of the CC&I audit plan.

You will be involved in developing and maintaining real-time Process Control computer systems to support 24/7 operations across the three main Long Products sites, providing IT-based systems and solutions using a variety of technologies and techniques to meet the demands of customers across a range of diverse activities, in line with the strategic goals of the divisional and business units as well as consistently satisfying customer requirements delivering systems within budget and timescale in accordance with service level agreements currently in place.

We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to manage the activities of the Mechanical Workshop’s Planning/Progress & Estimating Department to enable each Manufacturing department to maximise the profitability whilst delivering the lowest cost engineering service. You will also be required to produce detailed planning schedules for the Departments to enable efficient cost effective progress of components manufactured and refurbished through the assigned areas.
The Senior Planning Engineer is required to manage and co-ordinate the team of planning/progress & estimating personnel to ensure incoming orders and enquiries can be achieved to customers’ requirements and within Mechanical Workshops operating standards / profitability.
Your principal accountabilities will be to co-ordinate the activities and priorities of the programming, progress, materials, scheduling and estimating sections within the planning department, to liaise with customers to assess work content for orders received, provide management with key financial & operational performance data, trends etc and to act as first point of contact to provide expert advice to customers and others within their area of expertise.
You will also be required to negotiate with suppliers for the purchase of spares/materials to satisfy customer requirements, manages supplies contracts accordingly, as well as recommending the purchase of equipment, tools and specialised machinery to attain quality, improve efficiency, and maintain customer satisfaction.
To succeed as Senior Planning Engineer, you should have a craft engineering background, educated to HNC or equivalent level, with practical planning and experience in maintenance and manufacturing engineering. You should have a knowledge of computerised engineering systems and the ability to communicate with all Workshop Management and Craft personnel.

We are seeking a Production Engineer to be responsible for developing, managing and implementing production plans in the most efficient, safe and cost effective way in order to meet department business objectives, whilst at the same time meeting the specification and delivery requirements of the customer.
Working in conjunction with the Production Control Engineer, Manufacturing Manager and the other Production/Maintenance Engineers, you will seek and implement improvements in safety, operations and productivity.
As Production Engineer, you will be responsible for first-line management and control of the work force on all production, technical and maintenance activities within a specified area of responsibility with due regard for safety, to achieve departmental objectives. This requires prioritising, directing and monitoring of work for Engineering Supervisors/Team Leaders, craft and non-craft grades within the department as well as for service departments and outside Contractors.
You will determine with the Manufacturing Manager/ Production Control Engineer the operational priorities of the Workshop, and will be responsible for achieving departmental profitability and viability targets by the effective utilisation of manpower and resources meeting customer requirements on delivery, quality and cost. You should also actively seek improvements in productivity by studying current working practices on a day to day basis, implementing improvements to the practices and benchmarking against “best in class”. In conjunction with the Maintenance Engineer, you will also allow planned and unplanned maintenance of Workshop equipment, in order to avoid disruption to production.

We are seeking Production & Planning Engineers, based in Scunthorpe, Rotherham or Teesside, to be responsible for planning, evaluation, and monitoring of all internal and external customer requirements, to ensure they are achieved, as well as ensuring compliance with and updating Quality Procedures in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001.
For all work processed through the Structural Workshops (excluding shotblasting and painting of plate), the Production & Planning Engineers must establish the work content and resources necessary to manufacture the components in the most efficient and cost effective way to meet the specification and delivery requirements of the customer. You will also be responsible for procuring and organising the resources that fall outside the available resources within the department which may entail subcontracting large elements of work.
The developed plans must be communicated accurately and effectively to the remainder of the department by means of method statements, job procedures and written instructions.
Your key responsibilities will include assessing customer requirements, planning, monitoring work, proposals for and implementation of improving manufacturing methods, evaluation of all orders prior to planning, inputting and updating the Structural Workshops forward load system, estimating availability of material with steel control, planning and controlling Plant period orders and preparing enquiries, assessing quotes, placing orders/indents and monitoring sub-contract work in order to achieve customer requirements within Structural Workshop budget.
You will also offer an advisory service to Site Engineers on refurbish and emergency breakdown work. This progresses the swift refurbishment of the work and aids price evaluation.

As Senior Reliability Engineer you will join the in-house consultancy team and be responsible for the implementation of RCM analysis methodology ensuring efficient and consistent delivery of analyses. Responsibilities will include liaising with Plant Engineers and Managers for preparation, analysis, reporting and authorisation, and assisting Plant Engineers and Plant RCM Process Owners during the implementation of the maintenance regimes developed.

As Senior Reliability Engineer you will provide an expert knowledge base for the implementation of best practice asset management techniques and drive the optimum use of condition monitoring, defect elimination and effective maintenance execution through the application of structured business risk management.

A Mechanical Draughtsman is required for Cummins Stamford to manage and implement all mechanical and electrical design draughting and to check all engineering drawings for assembling and manufacturing at the direction of the VSIG Engineering Manager.
As Facilities Engineer, you'll provide continuous improvement for the Cummins CGT Stamford facilities team. You'll identify, prioritise, plan and implement a wide range of Plant engineering projects, optimising plant layouts to support a lean manufacturing environment. Working closely day to day with the Facilities team leader, reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.
