My client has been operating successfully within the steel industry for the last 15 years. They are a team of motivated metal workers and steel fabricators. They make balconies, stairs & steel girders for hospitals and office buildings.
Due to a heavy workload, they require a cad technician ideally with a steel fabrication background although they will consider people from all types of construction background. They will be based from their site in Chelmsford, Essex.

CNC Miller - Fanuc Programmer / Setter - Aerospace Industry.
The Company:
Our client is a leading manufacturer of aircraft and aerospace components, particularly for the aero-engine industry.
Due to an increase in work load, supply agreements and expected orders, they currently have a requirement to recruit for a skilled CNC Miller Machinist to work in a busy machine shop environment on an initial 6 month contract basis, which will become permanent thereafter, based in South Essex.
The Role:
You will be a skilled and experienced CNC Miller, ideally apprenticeship served or with a good dearth of practical experience, and able to program, set and operate with Fanuc controls.
Ideally you should have some exposure to the Aerospace Industry, although this is by no means essential. What is essential is the ability to work to tight tolerance, with a varied workload which will include small batch work, prototyping, proving and editing programs, and often programming from scratch, with experience of machining a variety of materials which might include aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel, nimonic alloys and titanium, with a knowledge of associated cutting feeds and speeds.
You will be required to manufacture jigs and fixtures as required, and to have a practical working knowledge of CAD/CAM, and ideally, although not essentially of Pathtrace software which is similar to Edgecam or Alphacam..
You will have worked in an environment where continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methods are in place, and will be able to document all new work with setting sheets, recording all necessary technical information.
The ability to work with CNC Lathes would also be an advantage, although again not essential, but turning experience would be useful.

As an expert in Supply Chain, the Logistics Process Engineer advises the integrated supply chain organisation and puts processes and systems in place to optimize the supply chain. He/she acts as the trainer and coach to the supply chain team on designated topics (for instance detailed understanding of Serpat requirements and PTD concepts).
Your responsibilities will include training the supply chain organisation so that the target competence is acquired on Serpat. You will be responsible for your own MMo and receiving ERP skills matrix. You will be responsible for the flow map supply chain to identify improvement areas and savings. As a Facilities Engineer, you will provide advice to site staff on technical issues associated with the plant and facilities located on site. This is a trainee position for first line management and provides a development opportunity for promotion to the site manager position. You will provide stand-in day to day management of the blending facility including the supervision of technical and office/administration staff and provide input to the appraisal of administration and technical staff.
