To support current growth plans we are seeking a Design Engineer to join the team based in Poole, and work up towards Team Leader level.
As Design Engineer you should understand (or have the potential to understand) the product range and the applications of Hydraulics products as you will be providing a customer facing engineering resource to assess project requirements and generate/ present program design proposals and bids whilst supporting the contract review, critique and negotiation phases of gaining & delivering of order.
Your knowledge should apply to aftermarket, product upgrade and new OEM hardware opportunities and you should be familiar with relevant market segment customer engineering standards and expectations.
The Design Engineer will be responsible for ensuring contractual, ISO & Textron quality standards are met, identifying training and development needs for professional staff as well as liaising with other departments within the organisation, both in the UK and overseas. You will also take on the more routine duties involved in an engineering department.
You should have some years experience in a hydraulics company involved in the manufacture of either gear pumps or control valves and be part of a successful design team. Ideally be educated to degree level in a mechanical engineering discipline the Design Engineer may also have some electrical or electronics experience. Consideration would be given to others with an appropriate hydraulics background in lieu of a degree.
A preference would be to have a Design Engineer who would be able to develop into a senior / team leader role. It should be noted that there can not be any guarantee regarding specific future career options as it depends upon your performance and opportunities within the business.
