We are seeking a Design Engineer – Mechanical to assist in the management of a team of engineers through the supply chain, providing specialist technical and investigation expertise in support of projects, products and plant operations. You will also offer mechanical support to all projects from conception through to hand over, including onsite installation and commissioning. As a member of the Engineering Function and the Services & Instruments division, you will be based in Cumbria, reporting to the Senior Design Engineer.
As Design Engineer – Mechanical, you will assist with the management of supply chain engineers (mechanical) to provide specialist technical and investigation expertise in support of projects and plant operations as well as the progressing of product specification, design, and manufacture through liaison with project teams, and technical leadership of sub-contractor design teams and acting as primary interface between technical teams and the supply chain with regard to all design issues.
You will be responsible for the production the mechanical sections of design and manufacturing specifications to meet the quality and safety requirements of the company and their customers, issuing appropriate design requirement specifications to design and build subcontractors and ensuring all mechanical requirements have been appropriately translated into design specs.
As Design Engineer – Mechanical you will be responsible for ensuring design and regulatory compliance is maintained by suppliers throughout the project life-cycle and will have an active role in engineering design and safety reviews, will provide technical assessment of tender returns, will input into the bid teams as required and will manage the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of the required quality of engineering design or production.

We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer who will be a member of a team in Cumbria which provides specialist support to a range of plant based radiometric instruments. The role may also include carrying out radiometric measurements and surveys using instrument systems and/or client Services Products.
As Technical Support Engineer you will provide a breakdown service for a range of radiometric instruments, conduct routine maintenance on a range of radiometric instruments, carry out radiometric measurement surveys e.g. on plant, equipment, waste materials and will perform all tasks within defined timescales and in accordance with Quality Management standards.
You will be required to be compliant with Local Rules and Safety Systems of Work (SSOW) and to provide accurate records of all work carried out.
The Technical Support Engineer should be qualified to minimum HNC Level or equivalent in physics, electronic engineering or related discipline with knowledge of nuclear instrumentation or radiometric physics and some experience working with or developing electronic instrumentation.
