Excellent opportunity for an experienced production / materials planner to work for a major broadcast company
My client, a manufacturer of broadcast equipment who sub out their electronics manufacturing, have an opening for a EMS planner.
Job Purpose:
Drive the supply chain planning process from order acceptance through to fulfillment by our EMSs (electronic manufacturing service) partners to ensure delivery of product to customer SLO (service level offering). A key focus of this position will be to configure the supply chain to predictably deliver short lead times whilst optimizing inventory.
Main duties:
1) Develops and implements product build strategies at EMSs to maximize flexibility whilst optimizing inventory liability.
2) Acts as primary contact with sales, manufacturing, and logistics, determining resource constraints, and developing plans to achieve customers' needs.
3) Review inventory of raw materials against present and anticipated sales orders. Activates reorder points where judgment determines an anticipated shortfall.
4) Enters specific sales orders into the master schedule based on requested customer delivery dates, availability of raw materials, and equipment.
5) Maintains the master production schedule for the facility, reviewing daily to adjust for changes in customer requirements, delay in receiving raw materials, availability of production equipment, etc. Advise appropriate parties in the plant and sales offices by E-mail of changes in the schedule.
6) Leads weekly production-planning meeting that includes representatives from sales, production, shipping, customer service, and purchasing departments.
7) Reviews monthly marketing forecasts, and adjusts master schedules accordingly.
8) Participates in sales department's quarterly forecast meetings.
9) Support EOL (End of Line) and LTB (Last Time Buy) product requirements. Monitor this adjust customer expectations based on product demands.
10) May assume or assist in purchasing function, depending on size of facility.
Qualifications and Experience:
1) A degree in materials management or business with up to five years' experience in manufacturing, production planning, and materials control function.
2) Extensive hands-on experience with a computerised production planning system such as MRP II.
3) Ability to analyse situations and react in a timely manner necessary.
