Our client designs and manufacture Power and Magnetics product solutions for for the Defence and Transit markets worldwide. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Wirer/Fitter to be involved in the build of first off and prototype equipment.
Reporting through the Production Supervisor to the Assembly and Test Manager, PMES are looking to recruit Wirer Fitters to support the manufacture of a variety of Defence and Transit equipment.
Main duties/responsibilities will include:
> Receive Job Package.
> Prioritise in order to build the job.
> Build job from all the relevant information provided.
> Ensure all work is of a high standard.
> Recognise and work around shortage problems.
> Experience of specialist tools.
> To have the ability to work unsupervised.
> To undertake the Build of first off and prototype equipment and liaise with Engineering to achieve optimum solutions.
> Liaise with Engineering concerning any design change/rectification.
> Liaise with QA department on standards, i.e. Engineering Manual, preferred components, workmanship standards.
> Liaise with Material Control concerning component/material problems.
> To work with Test / Engineering to resolve problems as they occur.
> To operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner
> Ability to plumb pipe work etc, for water cooled rectifiers.
> Working off site as and when required
Qualifications/experience/skills required:
> Apprenticeship trained or appropriate equivalent experience.
> Flexibility, motivation and commitment.
> Minimum five years previous experience allied to a proven ability to correctly interpret manufacturing information and carry out related self-inspection tasks.
> A good knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 procedures associated with the manufacture of equipment to a very high standard.
> Capable of working with minimal supervision.
Starting salary £20k rising to £21k after 6 months
A flexible benefits package is offered to employees to meet their personal needs.
Annual bonus of up to 6% of salary provided company targets met.
