Job Description
Our Safety and Integrity Management practice currently have a vacancy for a Welding Engineer.
The role will be spread across a number of work areas within the practice and will present an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge through project work for a range of prestigious Oil and Gas clients throughout the world. Liaison with other teams and disciplines within Advantica such as flow assurance, metallurgy, coatings and engineering analysis will be required.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
-Develop and qualify weld procedures in the Laboratory and field
-Failure examinations on welds, witnessing and reporting on mechanical tests
-Review technical bid documentation and summarise key information in relation to scope, welding and NDT requirements
-Prepare technical qualifications
-Prepare welding and NDT Philosophy documents
-Prepare estimate for qualification of welding procedures
-Prepare schedule for welding procedure qualification, AUT qualification and trial welds
-Prepare visit and technical reports
-Produce a full close out report to the current client standards
-Monitor work in progress (in the work shop/on site)
Skills and Qualifications:
-Ideally degree qualified in a Metallurgy/Materials related discipline
-A minimum of five years experience in welding in the oil and gas industry
-Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise reports and give presentations
-Excellent team working skills and time management skills
-Ability to develop strong client relationships
-Flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas for various periods of time
-Ability to carry out desk based technical work
-Ideally has knowledge of the basic inspection techniques and their application to gas pipelines and process plant
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is negotiable dependent on skills and experience
