An opportunity to work in a ship repair and refit environment, based on the south coast.
You will be working as part of a multi skilled team responsible for undertaking a range of repair and maintenance tasks on either HMS Severn or Chilean vessel.
You must have served and successfully completed a recognised Welding Apprenticeship.
You must have experience of both Manual Metal Arc (MMA) and Metal Arc Gas Shielded (MAGS) Welding Processes using Solid Flux Corded Wires, having worked to Radiographic standards for both processes. Welding Ferrous and Non Ferrous Materials.
You will be required to pass tests on the following procedures to EN 287 8 mml mild steel plate (Lloyds grade EH36). You will undertake two test plates, both FCAW.
1 x Vertical Butt weld
1 x Vertical Fillet weld
Minimal grinding on all runs and no grinding allowed on capping runs.
Rates for PAYE contractors are £13.37 (plus £1.36 holiday credit) for the first 37 hours worked, £17.83 (plus £1.81 holiday credit) for overtime Monday - Saturday and £22.28 (plus £2.27 holiday credit) for overtime on a Sunday.
For limited or umbrella company contractors rates are £16.62 for the first 37 hours worked, £22.16 for overtime overtime Monday- Saturday and £27.69 for overtime on a Sunday.
Overtime will paid once 37 hours have been worked, there will be an average of 50 hours per week available.
