This opportunity provides an excellent foundation for those wishing to develop a technical career in telecommunications and for the right candidate could lead to either a junior development engineer or product marketing engineer role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The appointed Validation Test Engineer will be Degree qualified in either Electronics or Communications Engineering with at least one years relevant post graduate work experience within a telecommunications or communications technology environment. A working knowledge of at least one of the following DSL, TCP/IP (Ethernet), VoIP, IPTV would be considered advantageous. Working within the UK test product business unit supporting the product creation activities. Work will focus on both testing new product developments and enhancements to ensure they are ready for market as well as validating technical issues reported by sales teams and customers.
The Validation Test Engineer will work alongside and in co-operation with the development and product management team providing validation support for new product developments and enhancements. Research and writing of test specifications and plans for new product developments. Undertake product validation testing as part of the overall verification testing stage of the product creation cycle. Participate in maintaining and improving the test environment and process and occasionally perform on-site Alpha testing. Occasional customer visits, supporting the sales channels with validation of technical issues reported against products.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
£20,000 - £26,000 Basic
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
