Design Engineer, Vehicle Systems Group
Department Description:
Multimatic Inc. is an international automotive supplier whose product specialities include high technology dampers, suspension systems, closure system components and instrument panel structures. My client specialises in the development of high-end motorsport dampers, vehicle dynamic development and hinge systems for the European market. We also provides contracted engineering services to a variety of customers and the Vehicle Systems Group currently requires an additional design engineer to join the team.
Job Description:
The Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out all phases of assigned projects, to support other divisions and external customers. This will involve constructing 3-D CAD models, technical drawings, engineering calculations and report preparation. The engineer will also be required to program manage all aspects of design projects and work closely with other members of the team as well as other departments, including supporting analysis, testing and production activities.
Key Responsibilities:
•lead the design and development of engineering contracts and R&D projects
•document and record design activities in project files
•create CAD models and engineering drawings
•perform engineering calculations to prove design concepts
•participate in DFMEA activities
•conduct engineering and design reviews
•initiate analysis and test requirements to support design
•prepare technical reports
•attend customer meetings
