Our client operates at the heart of the broadcast and mobile communications industry and is at the forefront of network solutions and services in an increasingly digital world.

Purpose:
Transmission Controllers ensure quality and continuity of service across multiple television channels.

Key Objectives:
- Monitoring of the automated transmission system, manually intervening as required
- Editorial decision making where 'Live' inserts to transmission affect schedule timings
- Monitoring of channel outputs for quality and continuity of service
- Execution of transmission schedules to ensure exact content is transmitted at the correct time
- Direct liaison with third-party MCR and control rooms to ensure ancillary feeds are available
- First-line fault diagnosis and liaison with the Engineering team as required
- Ensuring adherence to Ofcom specifications and guidelines
- Managing scheduled caching of programme material
- Responsible for the deployment of redundant systems under failure conditions
- Responsible for limited editorial control within set client guidelines

Skills/Competencies
- Media training or broadcast operations work experience an advantage
- Ability to prioritise own workload
- Good communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Able to work well under pressure and to adhere to strict deadlines
- Very organised and accurate with attention to detail

Technical knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience of operation of broadcast or IT equipment
- Knowledge of transmission systems and/or broadcast systems
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of the end to end process of Channel Playout.
- Experience of working with 'Live' event inserts
- Awareness and general understanding of UNIX/Windows operating systems
