We are currently looking for a Trainee Study Manager to join the Toxicology department of a leading contract research organisation in Cambridgeshire.

Main Role of the Post

To be responsible for, to organise, run on a day to day basis and report studies of various types and complexity.

Main Duties

To perform fully the role of Study Director as defined by 'The United Kingdom Good Laboratory Practice Regulations 1999'. To this end, the Study Director will:

To perform fully the role of Study Director as defined by 'The United Kingdom Good Laboratory Practice Regulations 1999'. To this end, the Study Director will:

1. At all times be aware of and committed to the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice.
2. Facilitate the successful commencement, running, completion, reporting and archiving of studies assigned to you, and to assume responsibility for their quality and integrity.

Other Duties

To perform the role of Study Supervisor for studies where assigned by the Senior Toxicologist
To maintain an awareness and familiarity with other studies assigned to the project team so that continuity may be achieved in the absence of any member of the team
To act as a weekend Duty Study Manager on a rota basis. In this capacity, you will be responsible for all activities relating to studies being performed by the department, taking or referring appropriately, decisions in response to situations that may arise.
To provide a focus of scientific expertise for junior staff.
To arrange pre-treatment, pre-termination and other appropriate review meetings.
To meet with Study Sponsors as required
To perform any function within your competence and experience that may be from time too time required by Management.
