Trade/Export Compliance (US ITAR) Officer required for major defence supplier based in Hampshire.
I am currently inviting applications from Trade/Export Compliance Officers who are keen to work in a challenging and safety critical environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of assistance to the Import/Export Manager with the management of UK, US and European export authorisations. Furthermore, they will be tasked with maintaining trade compliance for all existing and new business opportunities.
Candidates should show a good understanding of US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and UK Government import/export regulations. Proven expertise in a trade compliance intensive environment and technical expertise (ideally radio communications) is highly advantageous. All candidates must possess PC literacy and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Further areas of responsibility include:
Provide independent technical assessment of documents planned for release outside of ITT Defence Ltd to ascertain compliance with applicable export authority and related limitations / provisos
Develop trade compliance training modules and conduct trade compliance training
Review and approve all facility access plans for Foreign National Visitors
Work with Import / Export Manager provide advice on import/export issues to the Aerospace/Communications Division business units
Interface with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Contracts / Subcontracts, and shipping personnel to make certain that all policies, procedures, and US and UK Government trade (export, import, customs, etc.) regulations are being followed
Assist in preparation / coordination of input to Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLAs), license agreements, and other trade documentation for review with the Trade Compliance Empowered Officials
